VR4 short throw / short shifter kit

Well.. as it is stated. Looking for a short throw kit.

I have done the searches and came up without alot, just shorter shifters but not short throw.

Now. on Ebay there are DSM 1G short shifter kits (Short throw).

Now from pictures i have found he factory items looks the same in shape. But no where can i find info on if this would fit the VR4.. I dont mind having to make minor mods to fit it. But if it plain doesnt fit then im not interested.

Now the car i purchased has had the pivot point modified on the gear box by way of drilling a hole and putting a bolt through it. How effective is this in comparison to changing the shifter assembly.

any information would be great.

the fidanza kits etc. will that physically fit the vr4? as i see the ebay ones aswell that look just like the VR4 shifters .

hrmmm.. to just leave it as it is. or to change the gearbox back and fit a proper short throw kit... hrmmm (If these will fit.)

I have no reason to doubt that the Fidanza will fit (with slight mods that Mach V suggest). Will let you know when I have installed it. Should arrive in a day or two.

excellent.. i might get one of the ebay ones.. all look the same. just priced differently.. then ill do the bearings etc.. i really shouldnt spend any more on the car LOL

This is what he had to say

a 1g DSM short shifter, I am 99.99%
sure that it will fit.

Soo.. I might organise for one of these kits. Pending how everything goes with SLOTH's installation. If people are interested in maybe a group buy of proper short throw/short shifter with bearings kit etc?

pm AUSVR4 I see his vr4 that is for sale on here has a 1g short shift he should be able to tell you if it's a straight fit or slight modification.

I just literally have the shifter off a 1G DSM. The standard DSM shifter arm is a fair bit shorter than the VR4's. I think Bazeng did them in a group buy ages ago but you can get them far cheaper than what we paid. Look on the galantvr4.org or any of the US forums in the US or they pop up on ebay cheap

But that doesnt shorten the throw.. That only shortens the top of the shifter.. I am litterally looking for a kit that will shorten the throw ie, shorten top but extend the bottom section. This will make the pivot point different.

And already looked into a 1G shifter, but not what i am after

is it $190 now?? It was $210 a while ago which was rediculous but it dropped down to $170 which seemed OK to me.

I'm pretty sure the one they give you is not your own one back, they may freshen the shifter up. I mean, shit.. they'd want to for that price.

i dont think they carry exchange anymore. you send yours,they reco it and modify it then send it back.

i couldnt handle the mucking around with different prices etc...
i got one price on the phone and a diff one from the website
