So I put my walbro in tonight (just now actually). It was a LOT easier than vfaq.com said. I was able to use the factory connector but had to drill a new earth hole and use a longer bolt for the base plate.

BUT

The stock pump is SMALLER than the Walbro! What do you reckon, the previous owner's pump failed and they replaced it with a non-turbo pump? The number stamped on the top of the pump is 08 11K 2020.

Also note that this is a GSS341. The pump is 180 degrees around the wrong way which is why I had to modify the earth line.

Pic's attached with the Walbro installed.

Good to see its a genuine shiny smooth surface Walbro and not one of them dull grey rough chinese copies :D . It really is quite easy isnt it and you fitted a GSS341... I couldnt fit a GSS341 (got the bloody wrong order sent to me - der) in my CC fuel tank so I got the proper GSS342 like everyone else

That's odd that it wouldn't fit? AFAIK they're the same pump just swapped 180 degrees. It was much easier than I expected - however I haven't started it yet

i found that the walbro wouldnt fit in the tank of the evo it was too long, so we had to make some mods to the cradle, now it works sweet as :D

good to see its in dan.. cant wait to see it going now :D

Hmm.. might be an a-spec thing? I have an a-spec pump, I'll measure it's length and we'll see. That would be kind of dodgy, to have been running a non-turbo fuel pump for all this time...

The walbro's are slightly longer than the stock fuel pumps but for direct bolt in - GSS342 is the one you want.

The stocky I have is 11cm long, from the tip of the plug down to the base of the electric motor part (the plastic filter part was not included)

Genuine Walbro fuel pumps come with car specific installation kits. When you get a GSS342, you also have to stipulate the following:

Installation Kit 400-791 (Subaru WRX or STI 02-05)
Installation Kit 400-847 (EVO 1 2 3 or 8; Lancer 1.8 Turbo CC 4WD 92-96; Eclipse 95-98 )
Installation Kit 400-846 (Civic 92-00 or Integra 94-01)
Installation Kit 400-765 (Supra 94-98 )
Installation Kit 400-826 (Accord 94-97)
Installation Kit 400-865 (Prelude 97-01)

When people get a GSS342 they could end up with a generic install kit or something other than the Mitsu one if you dont ask for it

and what does your mum think about you dissasembling and reassembling a fuel pump on the kitchen counter
