Weighed the VR4 today - 1360kg's

the import shipping papers for my '88 jspec said 1350kg, and that was with 2 spare rims in the boot.

mine was exactly the same

whats up with the two spares in the boot? :lol:

the rs being .5mm, how sure are you?

i had rs frontcut leftovers and the gaurds are exactly the same as the aus spec...

they are both really light anyway...


was nicks vr4 weighed with the driver and a full tank?
im just curious

my vr4 without me in it and all the extra parts to be put on would have been 1280kg's.. which isn't too bad i guess
without the extra drivers seat (25kg), my tool box's would probably be more like 1240kg's... full tank also..

and the extra parts to be put on i'd guess would weigh around another 50kg's...

1300kg's doesn't sound too bad though

but i still cant believe dre's borg..

with myself, dre, tools, shocks, dog, other crap.. it was 1440.. an easy 1250 without the extra's...

some weight reduction and you'll be in the 1100 or even less!!..
200kg advantage...

what would that equate to in times? 2 tenths of a second? more?

i remember high octane 2, a 400hp vr4 vs a 360hp evo... the evo beat the vr4 by one tenth of a second..... the lsd would have helped... the evo got the vr4 on the launch... top end the vr4 would have caught up if it were a 500m race =)

but weight does matter...

what do the electrics in the door weight?

Darren told me that the RS shell is ligther then the VR4 shell!

In regards to that.. ur car is lighter then my evo then.. mine weighed 1340kg with me in it.

it was 1400kg with me in it from memory

removed:

sound deadner
air con
jap front and rear bars
- half tank...

so i still had:

4WS
oil lines running to the back etc..

All the panels are the same weight.....

Its whats inside of them which makes them lighter.....

I really want electric windows and central, but also don't want to regret selling my doors if i want to reduce weight when i finally get my car on the track/hills.

Would you be keen to swap them for normal doors? Are they easy to come by? If i wa sto ring a wrecker like adel jap you think they would have them?

I weighed my Evo 3 on the weigh bridge at the Mallala circuit on sunday.
With the rear seats removed (which weigh virtually nothing), the car weighed 1256kg.
