anyone know?

mine has

- stock turbo
- stock ecu (standard eeprom non flashed)
- cat back exhaust
- air filter
- GFB bov
- stock cooler/piping

what should it do down the 1/4 in this trim?
im thinking it might do high 13s low 14s.. it doesnt feel that slow..

Jon

My one ran 14.7 bone stock with nothing but a pod filter. With an exhaust on i'd expect low 14s.

Pod and 14psi (with turbosmart bleedvalve) I ran flat 14s.

With the pod, 14psi and a VR-4 intercooler I managed 13.4 with everything else still stock, exhaust included.

thats pretty interesting.. well when i tidy my car up abit and reset the ecu.. install a new clutch... ill take it down the 1/4 see what it does.. would be interesting.

Jon

wen u go racing jon you better bloody tell me i want mine in the 12's but i cant be assed goin by myself its more fun with someone else...

my friends gsr with just a catback exhaust on 15psi managed a 13.4.

I don't understand these kind of times!

What MPH did it run?

That's quicker than an EVO.

I have a TD05,-16g 510cc injectors, walbro fuel pump, remapped ECU, turbo back exhaust, im currently using an xr6t fmic and the best time i've run so far is a 13.8@99mph.

With the standard turbo on 14psi the best was 14.7@91mph!!

You must be very kind to your car, with a setup similar to the above I ran 12.62 @ 106mph. Best I ran on the TD04 was 13.2 @ 102mph

Really?

I was having clutch problems at the time, but the MPH doesn't lie.

106mph would mean that you are running a lot more power than my 99mph.

Especially with the TD04, 91mph is a huge difference to the 102 from your TD04 setup.

I'm just really concerned because losing 10mph is a huge difference and if what you are saying is true then i must have something seriously wrong with my setup!

What spark plugs were you using at the time?

Just off the shelf NGK Copper/Steels. Went one colder though. 7's from memory. The GSR was putting out a fair whack of power when it ran its 12s (Also slipping clutch due to leaky master cylinder syndrome) and was cramming plenty of boost down it too.

What sort of 60' times and half track times/speeds were you getting?

Ah ok, i'm using the standard heat range ones designated for the GSR.

This information is for my 13.856 run

60' : 1.871
660' : 8.862 @ 79.11mph

ET: 13.856
MPH 99.66

That's running 14psi on the td05-small 16g.

My intercooler setup is currently not ideal, but surely it cant be costing me nearly 10mph and a second off my time?

60's fine. Your not getting to half track in a hurry though, my GSR was running 8.1s. Theres half a sec allready. What rpm are you 1-2 and 2-3 changing?

im racing my gsr with stock turbo.. going to see if i can get into the 12s.. but yer low 13s definately on the cards!

Jon

Yeah low 13s should be easily achievable. Best ive seen on the TD04 was a 12.7. That was a freak of a car though, all it had was filter/exhaust, big assed i/c and an external. Was driven by Simon Steffeck though, bit of a demon behind the wheel.

I was shifting ~7krpm give or take, as the leaky master cylinder problem was rearing its ugly head.

Should i take it to redline? Or should i be shifting even earlier?

I know that there is at least a 13.5 in it as is.

Will be getting it on the dyno in the coming weeks to see what power it is making now.

my friends timeslip..

60" 1.887
660" 8.504
ET 13.414
MPH looks like 97.93 (its kinda blurry)

but his best MPH was a 104 if i remember.

Bring it down to around 6500rpm, don't be afraid to slam it into gear too. Nana shifting is for when you go to the Supermarket

Mind you, I always went to the strip fully prepared to break my car. Thats the only way you'll get good times at the strip!
