My intercooler setup is currently not ideal, but surely it cant be costing me nearly 10mph and a second off my time?

ive got just a turbo back and filter.. there the only mods.. after 5500 rpm it struggles to put more power..
u rkn theres something wrong with my turbo? coz ill never run a 13-14 pass..
 
yeah.. it struggles for the rpm to climb.. takes a while..
i was told to change the sparkys and leads..
also could my cat be blocked??

glenn from chasers in footscray gona take it for a power run on saturday.. hopefully he knows whats wrong with it..

You also need to think about where it's going to shift into.

No point shifting at 6k rpm if it's gonna drop to 2.8k and be in the offpeak boost stage. Better off to get that extra 500 rpm and shift to say 3.2k and be in the full boost section of the rev range.

Or whatever numbers you wish to substitute.

It's not all about top end.
 
found the problem.. the timing was out and he reset the ecu.. running good now..

all that needs to be done now is he needs to clean out the throttle body and should be all good..

might be taking it to calder this friday.. hopefully a mid 14...
 
dam, all thoose times shit on mine.
my car struggles to do 14.5 at 96mph with a garret t25 turbo, evo comp/injectors/airflow meter/magna throttlebody/vr4 dump pipe/3inch exhaust. still got stock intercooler up to today (just changed to evo one).
 
haha my evo ust to be slower than a honda 14.2's yeehaa dont worry 14 is still fast u'll get there im think ill go calder this week an hopefully see a 12 all u guys should come down?

Put the evo intercooler on, put GSR comp/inj/afm back on and busted out my first 13.7 evo shit was over fueling too much gonna wait till i got a chip before putting it back on.
