Which type of varex to get

Baz are you talking about the twin tip oval Varex where you lost the power or are you talking about the full 3" canon Varex?
When the 3" canon Varex is open its very close to a straight through 3" pipe right through the muffler. Its hard to imagine that would be a restriction over a generic muffler.

on my streeter im running a 3.5 cannon varex, resinator 100 cel cat, 3.5 exhaust and dump.
Its a bit loud open but quiet shut.
It made 480 kw on 28 psi and e85, so im guessing its not too much of a restriction.
Im guessing if it was a 3 inch system it would have lost a bit.

Yeah thought so... the twin tip Varex is the power sucking culprit, not the canon lol
When my canon is open its loud and I have power, but when its closed it loses heaps of power and quietens down to 88db.

I would love to know what it makes with a open pipe and no cats and mufflers.
Or even 1/4 times with and without exhaust

it made 35 more kw(515) without a cat and resinator. But seriously you couldnt tell the difference as it would light up all 4 through 3rd gear on the street :)
And I ran out of road and brakes too see what it did in 4th.
It used to do a 9.7 @ 150 quite regularily with the 515kw exhaust.

Jamo, if or when I change it I'll think of you for the redback on there now ;)

I just love that sound of the 63t with a loud tone but not overly crazy like the varex cannon I had that on the old GSR sounded nice but did my head in sometimes, and also I want the oval muffler so when I shut it looks less sus unlike the cannon
