Got my Duke pre-ordered for PC from Dick Smith, anyone else pre-ordered?
Single player should be mint, doubtful about the multi player though.
I got 3-4 weeks of work, just had a knee reco yesterday, so should have some time to game while resting :)

i am waiting for the demo.

the demo is available to those who preordered from tomorrow and then should be available to the general public from launch day (10th).

i will probably pick it up eventually.

It better be good. At least the adult content would be up to today's standards
I'm about 90% through Mass Effect 2 in preparation for part 3 to be released, and I still have Crysis 2, Dead Space 2 and Fear 3 to go through yet!

i honestly have lost interest in pc fps (most of the recent titles have been mediocre at best. i used to be right into competetive online play. and tbh the online comunity these days just isn't what it used to be.

i ashamed to admit this but i'm still yet to finish cod black ops and world at war single player.

Can't beat orig medalof honor
Batlefield badcompany I thought was alright. Spec the cinmetography. and sound. But gameplay is always the same. Tomclancy rainbow six vagas was fantastic. Unique. But graphics are a little old now. But great fps

We'll I do feel the same actually, I'm sick of realistic war games of COD and MOH where you can only carry a certain amount of weapons etc, not to mention the games are too "consolized".

The older days, like Q3, UT2003, HL2, DOOM 3, QUAKE 4 were always fun to play, and never the realistic crap, or pressing a button to hide behind a wall (tnx consoles), thats why you can see/tell Duke is going to be good, just a simple fun FPS imo... with jetpacks! :D

(I hope theres a section in the game that has the Duke Ventrillo harassment in it, lol)

[That reminds me, I wouldn't mind trying to see what Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood was like, and the new one coming out]

Yeah a lot of people say it gets a bit monotonous playing war FPS's over and over again, but I cant help it.. I love them!!! Battlefield BC2, MOH, COD and Sniper Ghost Warrior were awesome.
I also like an element of science fiction. FPS games I'm keen to play this year are Crysis 2, Fear 3, Deadspace 2 and Bulletstorm.
Throw in Duke, The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings; and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and I think Ive got my next few months covered

Lefty, I found Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood a bit boring. Good storyline but after a while you get sick of listening to boring conversations and waiting for the action to start. The old western feel with guns and cannons didnt really do it for me when the novelty wore off. It didnt capture my attention nor immerse me into the game as well as others have. When I finished the game I was relieved it was over because I was really starting to bore with it  Its not a game you finish and go 'what? is that it? I want more!!' Maybe wait for COJ: Cartel to come out and see how it compares to the previous one as the new one is based in more modern times. Im anticipating the main character to be a Clint Eastwood cowboy version of Dirty Harry as that'll be cool. It better not be a Chuck Norris as Texas Ranger!

operation flashpoint is great for a more realistic shooter but way way way to short!.

i mostly buy my fps games for multiplayer i learn't early the fps games neer have a good story and unless theres something special about the ai. single player gets old fast. when you can top off a public server filled with some of the best players in aus single player ai is no match. in the new moh i found myself going rambo trying to clock it as fast as i coud. multiplayer was ok until the school kiddies got in there and guns got nerfed. the most enjoyable thing about the sp was hearing linkin parks song catalyst at the end.

i managed to score a handfull of ubisoft game for free and i'm still to finish those so my game time is taken up for a while.

i'll probably pick up cod mw3 only if it has dedicated servers again (never bought mw2 no dedicated multiplayer servers = not good).

i'm dissapionted in crytek over crysis 2! they moved away from the story arc they established(i beleive the game should have picked up from where it ended) i bought crysis and warhead and even thought they are essentialy the same story from to veiw i enjoyed them both. might grab crysis 2 if money permit just to see where the story goes. (theres supposed to be a trilogy)

crysis 2 i thought was average to say the least, story was okay.

I have tonnes of FPS's but i get bored of them soo quick and multiplayer is a yawnfest due to COD's gay non dedicated server setup and getting stuck with 10 year old american kids with lag to no end :(
I have the king edition of DN Forever preordered and waiting for demo to be released, DN3D was my favourite pc game :) John St Jon kicks ass!

Anyone played L.A.Noire? off topic but that game was good fun, smashed it in 16 hours but i could go back through it and spend another 30 hours getting everything

qik 247 yeah if the iw's latest offering of cod dosn't have dedicated servers i will be pissed! i still havn't bought mw2 on principle i don't buy cod for sp i do it for MP and i'll b f'd if i'm going to be forced to conect directly to another player to play (i often do marathon 6-7 hour sessions and i'm certain no one player will keep a server going that long) dedicated server is what make pc gaming good the freedom to connect and stay as long as you like for free!

on the topic of la noir i hear it's good not my kind of game though.

Whats so good about Mass Effect 2?

Everyone keeps raving on about it, I havent played it yet....

Is it worth buying?

just finished playing the duke demo, pretty damn awesome :) i'll chuck up a video to the first level once it finishes uploading

ME was one of those games that I never got to try out years ago and figured I'd also check what the rave was about with ME2 before ME3 arrives.
ME1 was mediocre... good graphics and storyline for its time but was easily surpassed by ME2 which is much better. I got to use my ME1 save game in ME2 which was good as it continues the story and character traits.
There's a bit of to'ing and fro'ing about the universe and a lot of useless chat, but overall its about a 7/10 I guess. Its more of an adventure type game and your choices reflect your characters persona and how others interact with you.
I didnt really explore much in ME1, but approached ME2 with wanting to go deeper into the story and actually read a bit more  Graphics, sound, story and action wise its pretty good.
Im pretty sure Im near the final stages of ME2 now and in good prep for ME3 which looks like it will be a great game!! B)

I got burnt with buying Crysis Warhead and the original serial didnt work after i tried to reinstall it on my rebuilt computer for the 2nd time!! I now buy games and install with the original DVD, then use a crack to register and play them. That way the serial doesnt get flagged as too many installations as I usually install games on both my PC and my boy's PC. If one PC needs a reinstall, it counts as another installation!!

I was going to sell both ME's anyway soon. Both were only used for installation only then stored away so the DVD's and cases havent been outof their packets for long before placed on the shelf. Both cases come with 2 game dvd's inside them. If anyone is interested you can have ME1 and ME2 for only $20 all up + postage.
