its crap i tookit to calder park an all i could run was 13.9 after 13.9 it sucked arse

mods
3' exhaust
air intake
bov
16psi boost

its a bloody slug
oscar cam down with his mate an they were damn thats slow...
i think the exhaust is holding it back but i was driving it hard
all my launches bar a couple were.. 1.8-1.85 60 foot times but my 660 foot times are like 8.8 9.0 an im not even missing my changes i tried pushing to 7000rpm plus an still the same 13.9 wats is wrong with it
 
hahaha mate clam down its not that bad! u need to work on the fuel system, boosting your car wont make much difference... u will only get a extra 10-20 kws with a exhaust if its properly done! n another 10 kws for a air pode depending if its sucking cold air... next step would be a turbo, n u should be running hight 12s maybe 13.2...

get a tune!

their is something thats kinda holding u back alittle...
 
wanna bring it round so i can have a look at it? i can throw a tune in it if u want.... with 16psi you should be running high 12s.

U need to get a datalogger so you can see if your getting excess knock and your ecu is retarding timing for no reason i.e phantom knock.

Dataloggers for an Evo 1-3 arent very easy to come by and they also cost like ~$180 to make.. i think rus in W.A is making them.. but they are very tricky to wire up from what i have heard.. im not running one in my car...

I would just check things.. and possibly reset the ecu.. cos obviously something isnt running right as a stock evo should be around 13.8 zone.

your power is probly dropping off before 7000rpm maybe around 6200-6500rpm shift point

if you ran about 18-20psi might help drop the time by lifting your Mph too

a chip of some kind like unichip etc will help heaps

maybe through in some evo 2-3 cams

just some sugestions

yeah all the turbo an all that are in great nick its just dissappointing wen the damn thing should be runnin in the low 13's to high 12's thats wat everyone is tellin me an my mph is onli like 96mph i rekon the exhaust is trouble buit it also feels that its flat once ure midway through third an through fourth it just feels flat, 1st an second are crackin but it dies in the arse

u can have a fiddle with it if ya want jon..pending on wen i want me to come round i guess
 
My gsr is only running 14.2 with a full exhaust, garret t25 turbo, pod, and 14pound boost. i think maybe the stock intercooler is holding it back.
 
god damn with a T25 turbo n u r still only running 14.2 u got some little issues their mate... i dont know what i would have run at 1/4 mile with my old setup but i had 178kws at 4 weeks (stock fuel system, stock bottem end... just t25, 3 inch exhaust, n air pod... 16psi
 
wats its worth to throw in a better fuel pump an some better injectors like evo 8 or similar will it make a big diff...i guess first i must replace the exhaust get a new dump an wat notcoz mine splits up into twion 2 ; at the back an its just sounds like a vacumm down the track as i filmed it
 
being this is my old car i sold it to beej who in turn sold it to you... that is a very slow time...

when i had the motor put in (darren put it in) it was a monster i had a run with Ollys car (which was my friends) and i beat it and he ran a 12.9.

and that was on 14psi with the td05 big 16g.

nothing touched or done to it just darren putting in the new motor.

ppl have seen this car in its hey day when i owned it and it had a rep on the street for being quick... very unsure as to what maybe wrong with it now.

i would really love to see this car go back to its hey day form.
 
I'd start with an ECU swap and go from there. There has to be something holding it back, I did a 14.0 with my old VR4, chipped ECU, on 17psi. It had a fucked clutch also so something doesnt sound right there.

you sure you have a stock ecu? factory evo ecu's have a boost cut of 1 bar... so either you were hitting boost cut going down the strip or u have a chipped ecu

Ok I want you to check out a few things that could be holding you up.
You might be leaning out due to a stuffed OR Blocked fuel pump or filter.
Might be best to run it up on a Dyno to get the mixtures looked at.

Another thing is that you might have a stuffed cat-converter (Might be blocked going from that vacume sound you said.
Going from the MPH that ET is about right, so it's not your driving at fault.

Why would you want to throw in some better injectors in your EVO? They already have 550cc as stock. But while your there get them cleaned.

My EVO III ran a [email protected] with just a 3" exhaust with stock dump, K&N Panel filter in the stock Airbox with 14psi.

Does the car ping at all?
And does the Turbo boost up fast? Might have a stuffed turbo maybe?
But get that cat looked at mate, I reccon it's that holding you back, keep in mind that if you have a rooted cat the car wont boost up as fast so it doesn't mean that your turbo is shagged.
