how wide extra did you go?
i only went an 1" but thinking about re doin it all and goin wider a bit........

  Its the result of having a pregnant G/F, sometimes they need their time alone!

Yeah I'm on the look out for some big rims, I'm not sure of an offset that crazy, but depends on what I can find. 17 x 9's are on the list, just a matter of finding something in 4 stud!

I think bringing out the skins on the doors is the ticket, from the front of the rear door back.

I more or less fluked my set
17x9 @+39
Gotta fill them guards
a 9 inch at 0 offset would be the go for ya!!
Imagine the dish you could get :D

You gonn aleave the front doors at standard width?
front guards?

The fronts are to be widened too

You can kind of see them on this pic. Front doors I'll leave I think.

I do love a good dish, but the problem is trying to figure all of the offsets out without having something to gauge it from.

Have you got pics of your rims?? I'm thinking something like this:

or maybe this:

dws i got you covered for the Wide fronts T_Wing, you already know what they look like... lol... my rims might goo soon too and just buy a set later, i already have Jap lite weight alloys on the car atm...... i have too much sheit and parts from other cars in my back yard....

if your goin 17X8" wide all round +45 will work all round, the back will rubb depending on your suspension set up, i am running currently 16X7" with 225/50 tyres at +50 offset, its perfect dead centre on front and rear... but the VR4 can camber the rears soo its a lil easier for you guys....

my rims are Work Mesh style, 17X8" with 235/45 tyres on the back of my lant.... you can hardly fit a finger between the fender and the tyre, but was planning on stretching 215/45's on there

my front were holding 17X9" with 235/45 tyres but the tyre touched the suspension by like 1mm , but if i had coil overs they would have fitted well or stretched 225/45's would have been better....

The Vr4's have a bit more guard clearance in the rear so fitting 8's @ +45 isnt too bad..they go on pretty well might require a little bit of neg camber...but minimal

Getting off topic a bit :D ..but....

It seems the rear of a GSR with the Trailing beam setup seems to sit the hub out a liitle further and closer the guard whereas the IRS on a VR4 sits in a liitle more..and then even more so when u dial in some camber...making fitment of wider wheels more possible.

Heres a pic of 17x 9 @ +39
i only put shitty tyres on them cos i knew it was gonna rub,it ended up rubbing the sideskirt piece of and then eventually rubbed through the sidewall and blew the tyre apart..only cos the wheel alignment never gave it enough clearance though...and it has the wrong tyres on it (235/45/17) the car sits pretty low though.

In theory putting 9's on a VR4 youd want a +30 offset to clear the inner trailing arm..with around 3 degrees neg camber if you want it sitting low inside the guards...like the pic.

Thats for stock guards..if youve pulled yours out an inch or 25mm..then (17x9 @+39)-25mm=17x9 @+14...go for it!! :!:

Any more help just ask..or refer to this.

haha u probly only wanted some sizes except i sent u my whole research.

Get the 215's on your rear rims...if you can find a dealer to fit them...
Should give you some more guard clearance...a mate of mine ran 215's on his 8's and never had a bead problem or had them pop off..so they should be fine...
Last week i seen 215's squeezed onto a 9...it blew of when they inflated it..they eventually got it...bit ridiculous though...and definently not legal.

lol nah, planning on selling the rims atm...... finish other things i want to do on the car, i still have 3 sets or tyres/rims at my place and there takin up space! i shall update on progress if anything shall happen........ and 215 is the min size to go on a 8" rim, i see the tyre comin off while someones driving, if it was put on a 9" rim... would be funny to see though..LOL.....

The rears on mine are about 50mm wider, the fronts are tapered from 25mm at the front to 50mm at the rear. I decided to go PHAT!!

Hey Alex,

I did rip the rear quarter off a Galant yes, however the process to get it to where it is now is a lot longer than just welding for me. I used a lot of Space-invader and Bog!! The rear quarter the way it is now is ready for me to make a fibreglass mold. This way if I damage it I can just make another one, or I can sell them!!

I'll make a detailed step-by-step for the passenger side rear when I get to that. Hopefully this weekend.
