Hey guys,
This morning on the way to work i had the front windows down and when i got to work the front drivers side would not wind up :(

I can hear the motor working but no upward movement! :(

It is in the carpark without the window up so i need some help ASAP!

Any ideas? Window off the track?

I have the workshop here but because of my operation i cant work on it myself because of not wearing safety boots....

The cable may have broke or come adrift which makes the window go up and down. Remove door trim and check the cable.

Temp fix, remove trim, undo 2 bolts which hold window glass to regulator assy. Slide window up and block up with a piece of wood or similar until you can get a chance to fix properly..

or just gaffa tape it in the up position

it will be your regulator that has packed it in, chances are you will have to buy a new one - 117 bucks from mitsubishi

I have the same issue with my cyborg- the wire has come off its tracks and its poked. Time for a new one!!

new regulator for you :) (Piece of steel with a cable)

pull the inside trim off, and you can try pull on the cable, but the cable gets stuck (like mine) where it winds around.

Could have fixed it though, by drilling out this part which was holdng it together. Then i could have used a pop rivert to put it back.

Regulator was more than $117. Im pretty sure its around $140 or like $125 if your a tradie...

Edit: Btw, if it was the motor, you'd be looking at $400+ so be grateful :) like i was.

.

ring the mitsu parts distributor for queensland and it will be $117

Yeah? :(

I just ordered one from mitsubishi here and it was the cheapest at $161!

Best of the quotes i got anyway!

lol dan, why bother with qld... just be fair and help mitsubishi with the extra $20, we need them to be here in the future so we can beat subi's :D

*Update*

OK Mitsubishi here sent me the "regulator" and its not what i want!!!!!!!

They sent the thing that the window follows up the track and the cord holder!

I just need the thing that connects to the motor.

The motor has a worm gear coming out of it and inserts into the windy bit..lol technical..

I need pics really to show you...

Anyway, my question is does the top spec hyandai lantra or proton GTI have the same motor assembly as the gsr?

If so the wreckers will sell me the whole thing for $150 ; winder, motor, and guide rail things. But once he pulls it out i have to buy it, if its wrong or not.

Thanks.

Can you pull it out yourself and check? Or is that a no-go.

no they sent you the right part...

u simply pull off the motor, and plug it into the new regulator. You take the bit where the motor connects to from the old regulator.

Im confused now, but i watched and helped out like 4 months ago, when i got mine fixed.

NO! They did send me the wrong part other wise i still wouldnt be asking for help!
I wanted what i got told was the regulator, but it was everything BUT what i wanted. I got the whole assembly minus the motor and the black component that the motor plugs into.

The motor is fine! The bit that the worm gear from the motor plugs into is busted. I want the busted bit and i dont want to pay $400 for a new motor!!11

Thanks

as far as i know, the gear on the motor is an integrated part. I dont think you can just get that on its own.

Post up some pics of what they (mitsu )sent you, and what the old regulator/problems are and that will give everyone a better idea!

any cc lancer sedan or wagon with electric windows has the exact same mech in it, as I have a sedan right rear compleate assembly in mine and was a straight fit and worked.

hrmm dont know then, soz :(

i should have also taken a pic of my old regulator. The cables where it wound up around where all tangled/stuck/off the tracks.
