Hi guys,

It's time to get off my ass and stick these 4 pots on my car. With that, I need some brackets.

Under suggestion from Entaran I tried a company here in Aus but they only sell a "kit" (brakes and brackets). I already have the brakes and there is no way in hell I'm paying $900 for a "kit"

Bear in mind a set of calipers goes, for argument sake, ~$400. The price of the brackets is just profiteering.

Anyone got some or should I get a set from the US?

Cheers guys...

The guy that sold me my 3000gt 4pot told me to contact race brakes in flemington, victoria.
Otherwise forum user grumbly made his own for his cordia and he's from adelaide.

Grumbly's brackets are more or less out of production. Nobody has seen or heard from him forever.

Tenagah is full of shit and won't seperate. I call that useless, obviously doesn't want to make the sale.

Racebrakes it is.

i'm in the same boat as ausvr4, has anyone had any luck in finding these? i have the 313mm discs with these aswell so the yankee style bracket would do nicely to bad there are no engineering diagrams anywhere for this plent around for other cars brake conversions.

cheers everyone.

i've had the chance to order a big amount of brackets but there wasn't enough interest

if you want, i can do single orders from a contact in the states..

let me know if you need more info

115usd or something + 23usd for postage

i would have thought that was quite a reasonable price
those brackets are also for the 313mm rotors

i wanted to get my own brackets made up using a template that was on dsmtuners for using 13" rotors, but i dont have time to mess around with my car anymore

I'm good friends with Abdus and Hisham (like when Tenagah was an idea on a cruise in mundaring wier)
Let me talk to him, I'll see if I can get them for you. Last time I checked, he was buying them as whole kits hence why it may be a prob, But like I said, I've been good friends with them for a long time, I'll see if I can talk him around for you.

Edit- Alright, just got off the phone from Abdus and here's why they can't sell them individual, They buy them from a contact in Japan as an entire kit, hence why they can't seperate. They did try to get bracket's made locally but the cheapest they could have them done was $300 per bracket and a minimum order quantity of 50, which I'm sure you'll agree is not feasable as there probably wouldn't be 50 people with these calipers needing bracket to suit.

Tenagah would actually love to help you out and I've seen Abdus and the team go to extraordinary lengths for people in the past, But I'm sure you'll agree, the cost would be astronomical and most people simply wouldn't pay it. I'm sure you all know what it's like having to rely on other people and unfortuneatly, this is the case here.

Anyway I hope you get it sorted because I've heard good things about this setup, best of luck

Aaron

CNC Copying of a flat bracket is about 15 dollars tops after the template is made. Whoever they're talking to is crazy and overquoting. I can do it in my bloody university lab in my spare time :/

If you could make some up, then why did you ask tenagah for them in the first place?

I can't have them made from scratch.

But if someone has the brackets I can sure as hell get them copied.

I have no scratch fabrication skills. Any idiot can copy something fairly precisely however.

I'm sorry but that's just wrong. I was quoted $80 for a set with the plans from the US but the guy never got back to me. I might contact him again then sell them for 375% profit!

i too thought that was a reasonable price.
works out to be roughly $160au posted. but really you gotta expect to pay a bit for custom work ie. putting calipers from one car to another. if you can wait til you find the best price then i guess good luck to you mate :) but ive finally got these babies on and they look and brake awesome! mind you i paid more than the above price but its money well spent and when i get stuff posted from the US, seems to take forever. :?
