Hi everyone, new to the website (just recently acquired a 93 gsr turbo ^^)

Looking for a custom air intake box for a pod air filter (whether someone has one spare or can make one for me?)

Let me know how much one would set me back and I will be in contact.

Cheers. (P.S. I am in Adelaide)

Howbout grabbing some alloy sheeting and making your own?
I will be doing so shortly. If it's successful will let you know.
Check out Dane's (3zercrowd) ride for a good example

haha will probably just end up doing it myself also. Looked at Dane's (3zercrowd) ride and saw what he did. Noticed he moved the battery..is this what everyone else is also going to do? im thinking of just building a box around the pod that attaches to the outside piping for cold air.

Yeah, my battery was relocated to the boot.

Gives a lot more room for a cold air induction box, etc:

ASE at Edwardstown would probably knock one up for you.

I may have to go that option, as I don't know how to weld.

Or have a shed, or a workbench, or.......

Looks good mate, how did u go about moving the battery to the back? yeh i was thinking of calling them, but they will probably charge too much for my liking so im gonna give it a crack myself if i can haha :D

You can just go to Repco / Supercheap, and buy a battery box and a length of Heavy Duty power cable (7mm thickness or so will be plenty).

Here's a really good article from AutoSpeed on how to go about relocating it properly:

http://autospeed.com.au/cms/article.html?&title=Relocating-the-Battery&A=110776

After reading this, I think I'm going to go down to JayCar and see if they still sell the $30 circuit breaker, as mine doesn't have one (battery was already relocated when I bought the car).

Seems like a very good idea, unless you want to go out to your car one day, only to find a smouldering wreck!!

ahh i see. I will be sure to look into it a bit more :p

Dane's (3zercrowd) method looks to be a bit more easier, but relocating the battery seems kinda risky IMO.

I reckon I will try to make an enclosure without moving the battery... but if it's too difficult then I may just move the battery :D

Relocating it is only risky if you haven't got any general electrical knowledge or experience - it's all relative I guess.

As long as you make sure everything is insulated, grounded and fused properly, you won't have any issues.

yep mines in the boot now too, had heaps of audio cables runnin down for the amps so half the job was done already,

ill throw a couple of picks up when i cut it tommorow,

BYBY5L, that would be good to see some pics of your box enclosure, I may also put some pics up when mines finished. Have you made your own design or are you doing it similar to Dane's (3zercrowd)?

I have one that doesnt quite fit the massive pod filter I have and was going to have another one made up from it as a pattern with the whole in the right spot, I would sell it after I have done this. It keeps the standard position of the battery. I will post a pic in the coming days ...

na mines slightly different, its the std elbow intake so it goes into the corner of where danes does, dunno how to explain but ill definatly put some pics up as i go,

gunna bribe jayrome to weld the top piece too...shhh,

You don't "have to" put your battery in your boot if you don't want to.
Here's mine, I simply swapped around battery and intake. I've got a huge ass battery though. Was a bit of fiddling, but worked out:
