Good luck trying to find one man :(

I have been looking for ages....you will find many reshells and i believe after my research there are only 9 GENUINE evo 3's in oz, the rest are registered through the reshell/rebuild scheme out of vic.

Good luck! :)

If its red then its NOT genuine, i had the VIN/Chassis numbers somewhere for it months ago when it first went on for sale.

Sorry dane but im going to have to disagree with you, this is a genuine evo 3 has the ce9a on the firewall. only thing not genuine about it is its little plates on the firewall. doesn't exactly mean its not geniune. this was a reshelled gl, this is a mates car, looks the goods but the front bar. one of the best around just been restored as red tends to fade. mine has been registered like this one doesn't mean its not genuine because of those plates, as long as you have the ce9a chassis nothing else matters

Not sure what the story here is, but hey, if the chassis number doesnt match the compliance plate vin number, I dont see how you can say its original. Sure, it could be a genuine evo, but be dodgily registered, but that will cause you all sorts of problems in the future.

There are officially 13 Genuine Legally Complied EVO 3's in Australia. The only time the VIN number willl change(it will still have the original number on the fire wall, and original japanese compliance plate), is if it has had a replacement VIN number issued along with the Gold(Yellow) Personal import compliance plate.

I looked for many many years to find a genuine one, and for every one you find, you will find 10 or more fakes that people will try to pass off as evo's. Not easy to find a genuine item, let alone one that the owner is willing to sell. I for sure wont be selling mine any time soon(Not unless someone makes a ridiculous offer, even then i'd prob say no). And of the 3 other people I know with them, I doubt they would let them go for much under 30k, if that at all.

ehz?!? yeah right.. and how does this info help me buy a car? go pm each other or something

Mate, open your eyes, these guys are trying to help you, not spam you.

what they are trying to say cheebz is that your better off buying a reshell or a gsr with an evo/vr4 transplant..

nothing wrong with reshells? genuine evos never had a yellow plate :D
fwiw, the only difference is a plate.. they were both registered legally.

personally, i wouldnt buy a reshell in any shape or form. Unless it was me or my mechanic that had personally done the conversion. Even then, its still not the real deal.

As RUNUTS has already said, a genuine one will set you back 30k or more.

If you cant afford that sort of dosh, and cant be bothered waiting around and looking for one, IMO youre better off looking for a VR4 converted GSR (stronger engines anyway 8) )
