    Oil filler caps

I use the stocker and just replace the seal in it every year or two when it starts leaking.

    Turbo smoke

For some ball-bearing turbos on these, the opposite can be true too - that the oil feed off the head doesn't supply enough oil to lubricate the cartridge. There was a bunch of SCM61s that failed because of this - the solution was to take an oil feed straight off the oil filter housing.

    Turbo smoke

A properly performed leak down test might tell you if it's the stem seals, and can tell you if it's the rings. Otherwise, pull your turbo off and check for an oily residue inside your exhaust manifold runners - if they're dry (and there is an oily residue caked to the sides of your dump pipe)...

EVO 4-6 Seats into CC GSR?

Yup, I have TME seats in my gsr, they go straight in.

    Wilshire 7.45/182mph

Wilshire ended up going 7.40 @ 183 in testing I think? Mcgregor's GTR is the quickest 4WD, but Shep is slightly faster, having run 195 mph (I don't think the GTR has gone that fast?). Both are insane times/speeds for the sort of cars they are!

Crazy, Weird, Cool Conversions (56k lol)

Yeah, that doesn't suprise me. The LSx is a pretty compact, alloy motor and the RB is a huge cast iron lump (and then add all the associated turbo gear as well). It wouldn't suprise me if a fully dressed LS1 is lighter than a fully dressed 4G63 either. The story goes they weigh about the same as...

    FWD + CIG Locker = ........

I think half the problem with welding your diff up is the extra stress associated to the axles binding up whenever you turn even slight corners, since the wheels can't turn at independent speeds. If it's going to be track only, this shouldn't be much of an issue, but on the street, your axles...

Crazy, Weird, Cool Conversions (56k lol)

The SP engineering 2jz RX7 is pretty awesome, though I prefer the LS1/LS2 conversions (so much so, that my next project will probably be an LS2 FD3S). I don't understand the E30 M3 motor in the evo at all though :?

    opinions on 2l vs 2.4l

Not necessarily, it depends on a bunch of different aspects. If you're already reaching the limit of your compressor with a 2l, then you're unlikely to see much (if any) increase with more displacement, as your turbo is the limiting factor. You would end up with a fatter mid-range though which...

New Hot4's magazine layout & overall perceptions?

Hot4s has always (well, as long as I can remember) been total trash. Fast 4s lost me years ago, but I was an always an avid Zoom reader up until recently, though I don't much like the way it's changed after they cut all the staff, and later turned it into Boost. Race is excellent, and Sports...

    Alloy Racing Radiators

I've seen half sized cores (easily twice as thick as the standard though) used to success on three cars with 450+ hp atw (one had 550). No issues on the street, or at the drag strip, but none of them have been to the circuit, so I don't know how they'd hold up there.

    Alloy Racing Radiators

Are the fittings on the bottom for a trans cooler or something? The core size sounds identical to stock, I'd want to compare the fin density and core construction up close first, you could very well end up going backwards.

    Rebuild shopping list?

+1 for everything Baz has said. Just one more note, I wouldn't rush out and buy bearings and pistons without having your block and crank checked first - find your engine builder and get them to tell you what sizes you'll need. The last thing you want to do is buy standard sized pistons and find...

My garage is pretty gay, the car just fits in there, but at least it has a huge beer fridge. I knocked up a new work bench today, $80 in materials, solid as.

    Turbo Oil lines

Yeah mate .. I had a fitting brazed onto the water pipe that runs across the front of the block (I had an N/A pipe that doesn't have the standard water fitting), and returned to that. The feed I took off the thermostat housing (it was one of the lines that originally went to the water/oil...

    Turbo Oil lines

My turbo oil feed is off the filter housing, as I used to have a plain bearing turbo. I use the same oil feed for my current garrett ball bearing turbo without a problem. If you look inside the oil feed port on the turbo, you should see that there's a suitable restrictor already installed in the...

Experts Pls help me work out what the details of this E3.

Is there much rust in the floor pan directly behind the wheels? That's usually a good indication of driving in a salted environment.
