Whining noise Exedy Sports Organic clutch I am using. The noise that the car is making only started today - ive had the clutch in for 5000 kms. Pressing the clutch in causes the whining to cease.

Whinging Also, all wheel bearings are new and gearbox has complete full set of bearings and gear changes/gear leaver all feel normal.

Whinging Doesnt make a difference what gear it is in, just as soon as I back off the gas it starts whiniing..... If I depress the clutch pedal the whining disappears. Does that help?

Whining Gearbox is in good cond, fully recoed with new bearings, transfer case hasnt been touched its 240,000 kays old.

Head Dunno if the head was crack tested, but theres no coolant/steam coming out of the head anyway. It came out of the overflow bottle, turned into steam at pressure.

Coolant BTW the coolant wasnt pissing out of the engine, looked like it came out of the overflow bottle. Hope to hell no damage done to the engine, car had been out of action for 2 weeks with shitloads of money spent on it.

Repairs Hmmm lets see.... New Headgasket, new headbolts. new cambelt, lifters flushed and cleaned, new harmonic balancer, new cam bellty/all pulleys replaced (the kit). Pretty much the entire head rebuillt.

Re: ECU Dont know if the standard GSR ecu can "learn" how to recalibrate to 98 octane fuel. The knock sensor only gets used when u need to fill up with 92 octane (when u need fuel and 92 is the only fuel available). Its part of the reason Jap spec GSR's have something like 15 more hp stock...
