Blurring the line between 1st to 3rd Gen engines..
after several engine swaps with my car, and and several other galants, i have started to notice that the heads are not all the same as we all suspected....
as far as i can tell after the amount of engine heads that have gone through my possession is this....
the N/A head has a 2.0 and a 3 below it..
the turbo head has also the 2.0 but a 12 below it..
part numbers may have changed between HH/HG series.
Tolerances valve sizes etc, are all the same, parts are interchangeable.... the only difference is this....
left: is from the Turbo head
right: is from the N/A head
the N/A head has a 2nd oil pressure regulator before the oil hits the galleries, the turbo head has direct pressure to all galleries and turbo....
just thought i would share, so if your using an N/A head on a turbo car, i might suggest changing that little part over.. not quite sure what the pressure is set too... probably around the 30psi marker....
