A 3.545 Vs a 3.909

I would like an idea of how the difference between the two ratios feel on the street.....

Has any one had both setups in their VR4?
and if so does the 3.9 make the car more poky on the street.?

Or ,Is the 3.909 too short and annnoying on the highway?
,I know alot of people go 3.545 for the strip and drag,im not interested in that though.

From memory my mates E3 was very short on the street and absolutely useless on the strip..are they a 3.909?

The 3.909 ratio means I can comfortably run around in 5th at 60km/h.
There's no real noticable difference from 1st to 3rd from memory.
5th "can" get a bit annoying if you have a loud exhaust but for me personally it's nothing you don't get used to.

I'm quite happy with the ratio's

vr4 3.5 is best of both worlds with a bitmore topend than the 3.9
gsr(c73a) 2.8 never ending gears and does not like to sit in 4th at 60km, plus Ive never seen 5th and been way over 180km

I would have to say my 2.8s are my fav

but for the street go the 3.9s

I do way too much highway work to sit at 3400rpm at 110kmh. Too much fuel (3.909) so I stick with 3.545 which I like better anyway. VR4 1-3 gears are short as anyway.
