Hey people.
I've been getting involved with the recently formed amep (Australian motoring enthusiast party) and just letting people know that of anyone is holding any meets here in vic and want someone to come and discuss what we plan to do feel free to contact me.

Main aim having someone coming is to inform you of what we hope to achieve but also more importantly so anyone in the car culture community can express any issues that concern themselves we would love to hear from as many people as possible.

If you haven't heard of the amep there have been a few posts here about it but here is a link to their web page which has a lot more information.

Main things I'm wanting to see is someone get into te senate to so we have one person to represent us to block legislation that directly affects us where we currently have no representation.
Also things such as police officers only able to hand out a defect if they themselves hold a road worthy licence.
Extend club rego to newer cars such as alot of ours which sit in garages except for a few days a year.

They can, but only if they get support. It's people power. To start off we need numbers (members) and the word spread. The automotive scene is so broad that so many people haven't heard about it.

If you are interested and personally hoping for something to change. Or hope they can change something it's worthwhile joining. $20 to be a member is a very small cost. The bigger out numbers, the louder our voice, the greater our impact in getting our rights back. We don't want to leave it till its too late to take a stand. Look at gun laws (not that I'm pro guns). But they waited saying it'll never happen ect. Then it did and they protested but couldn't achieve anything as it was too late. We have the upper hand though because nearly everyone in the country has a car. And most people find some enjoyment in them weather it be a nice drive with family or free da to the beach. Or getting down and dirty in your garage

I don't think that's been worked out yet. as far as I know it all depends on what the members want.

I think it's only a vote in the senate or House of Representatives that you give them so there is someone to block legislation. You can still vote your own lib, lab, greens ect

I joined when it first formed :)
Been following the movement for a while with the ACMC, then when Grunt Files got involved and now formation of the AMEP.
Its gained momentum now and pushing forward.
What we need is every motoring enthusiast to join and put power back to the people - where the say about "OUR" hobby and way of life, has a voice in parliament!!!
These current useless pencil pushing clueless clones in parliament at the moment are ruining our culture, because of knee-jerk reactions to misinformed public/media/police agenda about us.

Anyone read te article in the paper today about new EPA laws in vic? Freekin reduculous
