I have just finished moving my battery to the boot and then removing the aircan and moving the standard intake piping so it goes to the old battery location.

I expected to be able to hear an induction noise.

Instead there was a weird whine when i hit boost.

What would the whine be why couldn't i hear the turbo slurping up the air?

i just took the air can off, battery still in the same spot, and i sucks like a hooker on heat (i.e lots and audible) and my turbo makes no whining as it spools up, well that was 4 months ago when it was last running

how do you use the stock intake pipe to move the air can?

or does someone make cheap intake pipes? :?:

you can just pivot the pipe

theres two sections

the bit that comes off the turbo
and the bit that connects to the afm

at the joint, it rotates around

hmm yeah i tried that but it was sitting on top of my radiator hose... thought it would be best not to have it there.

is that how yours is setup?

nah
mine is still stock
but barry showed me how it rotates around

i didnt know it would intefere with the radiator hose

yeah jase thats how mine is at the moment.

Pretty dodgey.

Where can you buy aftermarket intake pipes?

Like that injen one, or the other brand one with the 55 maf??

yep
just use the stock pipe, loosen up the middle clamp, unplug the canister hose and oil breather hose and rotate it behind the headlight then tighten it up

extend the hoses you unplugged and thats it

that is not cheap mate..

you'd be better off going to an exhaust shop and asking them to make you one out of mild steel

i have my aircan set over the radiator pipe for some time now and have had no worries... ill get some pics 2morrow and put em up
