if u got a broke bearing, u got a broke turbo....

the plumb back is the best way to go in all situations, no fine, keeps the turbo spooled, no damage to anything... & u can still hear it if u dont have ur filter in the can...
i honestly can't think of ANY reason why a atmo venting bov is in any way superior to a good quality plumbback

Race applications. When you run 30+ psi boost a plumbback can't handle it so they go full vent. Ask the JGTC. That's the ONLY time an atmo will out perform a plumbback.

I'm slowly getting into the whole flutter noise. Not sure if i'll run sans BOV tho.

i can get one of those greddy bovs, with a 2" or so outlet!
bloody massive! way bigger than the type 3 supersonics..

the noise is cool, but canaries aint

i just bought one

the outlet is 2inches, and i have a sheepdog one sitting next to it the whole BOV almost fits into the Type R's outlet

i just got done for my BOV as well
And for tyres outside guards/Whhel Combination exceeding allowable limit..(Width+Height) etc.

I made a plumback adaptor on the lathe.
Fitied it and its quiet.and actually decrease lag :D :D
And the wheels..It was a giveaway i guess,it riped the side skrt off.
LingLong..the cheapest and nastiest junks out of asia!!! :!: :!: :shock:

type r is race
type s is street

type r is what all the big power/big turbo supras use to handle HIGH HIGH boost levels

type s is just for normal applications

the inlet/outlet on the type R is 2inches

best bov money can buy

theyre around 450 new

nuts ive been tryna figuire out wat sort of bov ive got so ure saying its a plumback coz i got pulled over wen i first had it an i just told its was roadworthy an plumback an they left me alone nice police but it still psssshhhes wen u have upwards of 15 ppound boostin an flutterss below 4000 grand revs

Tuffrice: yep its an avo plumb back... i had a hks ssqv sitting on my desk at the time i had the car but never had time to put it on so after i sold the car i sold the hks ssqv.

The stock evo bov is pretty good aswell =)

Exploiting the brains ability to read english when the first and last letters are correct and the internal letters have the correct number?

That's a deliberate mind-****.

The previous noted post was a complete and utter ****** of both spelling, punctuation and general sentence structure and took a significantly larger amount of effort to read than yours. Unless of course i'm just that "leet" I can't read ******** anymore.

Run a plumback anyway..It is better for performance as some of you have said already.personally,the moment i plumbed mine back in it had less lag,and that is a good thing. :D :D .
Who would want lag?
It also plays with your computer,it can and does make your car idle ****,even if it does or does not leak.Its another source for external contaminents.(if it leaks on idle or 0 psi)

And besides,cops F*cking hate it,its the first thing they look for and the easiest thing to get you on..You are sponsoring theyre piss up fund.
Sure its cool to scare people with it....but...........

And for all of you who want a flutter..You all know what that noise is from and why?
Its not exactly desirable,at standard boost the reversion wont do much harm,but up around a bar ive been told by people who have learnt the hard way that it can and will damage the exducer and even inducer part of the compressor wheel..plus undue load on thrust bearings etc etc..list goes on.
The reversion is also like a sonic pulse through your airflow meter,giving it all sorts of confusing signals,back and forth,back and forth etc...the result,it gets confused,runs,lean,rich,lean,rich and so on..Thats why if u hit flutter and clutch your car quickly,its likely to stall.

anyway, back to the BOV topic at hand,

im pretty sure i saw on a dvd or something that in ultra high performance situations they dont run any BOV at all because both variants cause a performance drop.

Because they use antilag & other kool go fast technology to keep the turbo spooled, the back pressure is ignored & the additional stress placed on the turbo written off as just a normal ware & tare, Im talking high end race appz where everything is always rebuilt anyway, wether it needs it or not

tUfRiCe, is the psshhhh noise somewhat muffled ? cos if u have ur airbox off, even the stock bov is audable. & as for the flutter, is ur setup highly modified, ie not making full boost at 4k cos u got a big **** off turbo?

there might not be enough pressure to open the valve below 4k, otherwise, maybe check the vaccume line going to it, make sure thats all in good order

i can hear my stock bov with the standard intake pipes and the aircan cover on..
 
nah the pshhh is a big ass pshh itll make u jump an the turbo is stock it makes full boost id say b/n 3700 on wards i guess too busy holdin on to take a seriuos look at it haha
