Hey guys,

I discovered a slow leak of coolant and suspecting the bottom tank of the radiator.
If its time to replace it ill be going aluminium unit. Was wondering, i see a few people running half sized civic radiators 45mm core.

Was wondering if anyone had any overheating issues and which civic are these radiators from? EG ?

Thanks in advance,
Before anyone jumps up and down telling me to use search function i did, typed in civic radiator and not a single thread, so im guessing its safe to post one up :)

Cheers.

Ask bazeng. Im sure he used 1 in his vr4

Theres also a lancer that runs 1, but cant remember the user name

I used a STD b16 crx radiator and made a Subaru fan/shroud fit. Without a good shroud you are more likely to have cooling problems.

Realistcaly though, when is half sized radiator required? What turbo would be the largest in size before there is an issue of it touching the rad core?

The stock radiatior is far to close to the turbo for my liking.
If it is a stock plastic radiator, I don't see much hope for it lasting with an un heatshielded turbo.

I'm using it due to intercooler piping clearance issues but overall, the Civic radiator is doing a good job.
Mind you I am using a bigger and thicker than normal Civic radiator. The one I have is bar and plate and double the thickness of the usual tube and fin ones.

No over heating issues at all (daily driven, stuck in traffic).

i was/am thinking of just running a full size radiator, and if it touched i was going to cut and block the offending tubes. that way you run the biggest that will fit, dont need to fab mounts, cheap to buy as well...

jumbucks run a 1/2 width radiator

GT35R gets really really close lol
im running a 6boost manifold and a gt35.. and lets say i wish i had a smaller radiator. because im in townsville im keeping my aircon , if i didnt i would fuck of the condensor and move the radiator forward as far as possible. But yea my wastegate pretty much sits on the radiator. No room for comfort there

See the AMG rides thread.
Engine bay pics will show you exactly which type it is.

I'll measure when I get the chance.

I've got a 50mm ebay aluminum one. Does the job - infact it would overheat on the 4g61 over the 4g63t. I would always be in the 4g61 peak zone 5k-7k revs for hill runs. Get a decent fan and you'll be right. The fan is on constant as well and the temp would be up the 60-80'c area.

I used stock brackets and moved them closer.
