Whats the best method of (preferably) cleaning, or at least quietening down lilters, if you're not taking the engine apart ? An additive to the oil, or a particular type of oil, etc ???
I've tried a few things, and whilst they've quietened down from what they were before, they still have their noisy moments.

I may be interested in getting a set! Are the lifters a big job to do? My old man has machanical experiance so we should be allright, just wanted to know if there was anything to watch out for or any tips for a good install????

Just don't forget to get a new valve-cover gasket set while you are at it

It's a pretty easy job, it's even easier if you have 2 x BIG screwdrivers on hand to act as pry-bars.
