Cant even back of at any throttle and let the car flutter without it jerking around..pain in the ass..have to clutch it or it has a flat spot then jerks and kicks back in..goin back to a stock B.O.V..

The B.O.V i got now is plumback and it still happens..im assuming reversion through the compreesor wheel is playing with the airflow meter signal..wish i had a map sensor.

Hs any one else got it this bad??

yep i had the same thing with mine, it happened more when the bov was atmo... im getting a ecu in mine so it shouldnt happen, even though im going to have it plumb back..

Ive never heard of an ECU causing compressor surge but if you want to get rid of it, i'd make sure your b.o.v is installed properly or isnt poked.

hey clutz, i think what he is trying to say is when he backs off under the slightest boost the car jerks back and forth, mine was doing that when i bought the meek piping kit and had the bov going to atmo (because i forgot to get a ribber hose to plumb it back... woops)

im not too sure but i think it might be because the ecu is expecting that extra air from the bov and compensates with fuel, but the air isnt present and it floods the cylinders? maybe?

I think this is part of the reason...but if you read my original post...my b.o.v is plumback and its still happening...which leads to the conclusion that its reversion through the airflow meter when that is affecting it.

When you hear the flutter...air is being sent back through the compressor wheel..and chopping at it..hence the noise...these pulse of air would also be to some extent, going through the airflow meter as well...back and forth and causing the signal to be mixed up..hence the surging about..as the computer runs..rich,lean, rich, lean for a second.

is the bov adjustable? if so try loosening it off until the fluttering stops.

I see your point, but pshht pssht everywhere gives me the shits...
Stock ones the go i think

If it's plumbed back correctly, then it should make the exact same noise as the standard one. If it's flttering, you have it wound up too tight! If you cant adjust it, you can usually get different pressure rated springs to suit your application so that it doesn't leak boost and doesn't need too much vaccuum to open it up.

Yeah correct..ive added shims to the spring to stop it leaking when it was atmo..its prob too tight...the stock bov has some recirculation port that eliminates all reversion i think..i may as well run with that..plus its better when you got a deep exhaust note and no noise between gears. 8)
