Hi all,

I am just posting this to let other RVR owners know that I am now running the ECM Tuning chip and software in my RVR and could not be happier with the product or the service. Tom (twdorris) has been a pleasure to deal with during the whole process and as such I thought I would give props to a Club Sponsor and a provider of an excellent product.

It took us a little bit of time and communication to work out the quirks and differences between the RVR and Evo but once sorted Tom tested an ECU for us in the states to ensure it worked and away we went.

I must say that the standard setup provides a far smoother idle than the stock chip with better throttle and boost reponse. I have only played with some basic setting thus far but will work on it further over the coming weeks - Toms videos which you can see in the sponsor section provide clues to what this great tuning option can do.

So props to Tom for his service and for providing a excellent product.

Good to hear some positive feedback!

Seems like there's a bunch of guys jumping on the bandwagon now (excuse the pun :p) with some outstanding results!!

Mine is going on dyno next Sunday 23rd. Auto is fully rebuilt now without any slip. Will see what dyno says.

Hi Dr RVR,

good to hear everything has worked out for you with ECMLink.

What year and type of RVR do you have the ECMLink installed into? I am considering this as an option but have a 94 SSG and i am not sure if the ECMLink will work with the standard ECU that came with that model.

Thanks

TO4 - should work in any year RVR, but for reference the ECU number on my car is as follows:

MD 312467
E2T37876
5225 E

The E in final line means you can run the Eprom setup in that ECU, first line is the Mitsubishi reference and from what I understand Hyper and some SSG both use this code number. Check under the left hand side of the dash (look up high towards A pillar) and you should be able to read what yours says.

I notice you have listed Evoscan in another post. I know a lot of the east coast guys use this but it is a data log tool only for our ECU's. You would need to get a chip written by VR401 or Meek Automotive for any changes you intend to make injector wise and so on.

Hence my choice of ecmlink (after a few prods from BMGTZ and kenm55)

i am not really after the ability to tune at the moment, more for some datalogging as i have a few things that need setting up.

ECMLink just looks exceptional value for money.

Thanks for the info!
