EOI: Once in a lifetime meet??

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

I got an email back from them(tailem bend) Friday... They want us to put foward a potential date to get a quote happening... They are also working on insurance options for non cams affiliated groups like us.. Which would save getting a cams club to run the event for us.

What dates were people thinking?

Good stuff!!

I say just make up a date and see how it goes....

Once we can confirm pricing and venue etc, we can come to an agreed time for this event.

well we could... but we'd all have to pay the affiliation costs... I think the basic affiliation costs around $40 per member, along with that the club would need for form a consitution, a commitee with president, vice president, secretary etc.. run an AGM once per year etc..

What we get for our $40 is public liability insurance, however for a once off thing, it would be much easier, and less hassel to just have an existing club 'run' the event with their name on the permit, or even better Tailem Bend will shortly be their own provider through CAMS.

spring sounds good Id think that mid to end of october should mean good weather but not to hot.

Yeh MGEC was the logical choice , just have to makesure we have the right officals with the right levels.. We can have a chat about what would be required anyway.. you could do it on a single club permit, and you could offer a day type membership, that would reduce costs..

Ill speak to Jo anyway..

Nope not in SA... AASA has made it pretty clear that the are not interested in running any events over here... On top of that tailem bend is Cams only...

Weird, they have been only toooooo helpful to our car club up here. We are running our 3rd rallysprint this weekend under AASA and have a proper Rally running under them in August. Probably also a motorkhana or two later in the year as well.
They have really been great to deal with and a real breath of fresh air to be honest.

CAMS even sent a rep out to one of our recent club meetings to find out why a car club that has been running CAMS events for over 30 years had suddenly turned to AASA. The poor guy copped a flogging at our meeting, I actually felt sorry for him.

It will never happens if no one orginizes it.

If there is actually going to be events I would suggest a good place to start would be tagging onto existing track days
or events at first to see who will actually make the effort to turn up on a pre-set date.
No point going to the trouble if the last minute excuses come out just before the event

If that cant happen then its going to be pretty hard to get people to go to a 4gt event
