EPA clarification.

how important is dust/dirt filtration though? does it really affect the health of the motor that much?

i'm sure in the types of cars that we're all driving that there's much more damaging things happening than dust passing through the filter

Speed mag or HPI did a pod filter test on 4 types.

K&N oiled
Apexi non oiled
Blitz non oiled
Home brand no name cheapo non oiled

Flow,filtration and price covered.

Results:

1st Apexi outstanding approx $240 :shock:
2nd K&N very good approx $70-$100
3rd Home brand not bad $30 from Autobarn id assume

And last Blitz Very poor filtration $100+ approx

Thats all i can remember off the top of my head.

But Apexi dry type was far superior to the K&N

it's obviously different down there, here you can have an aftermarket cooler that doesn't matter, as soon as you put a pod on if it doesn't have a heat shield then it's illegal

I beg to differ.

Up here in the north :lol: pods legal IF: its not oiled...but can be boxed so they wouldnt know anyway AND it has to be mounted securely IE bracket.

I know :roll: :lol: Go figure between north QLD and Brissy.

PS we have NO EPA testing equipment up here either

Hmm, well I've got a k&n... I'm trying to keep my car legal; anyone test drove a decent panel filter and/or has a link/location of purchase?

try the apexi panel filters
