Imho every forum would have its Pros and Cons.

The Mods/People at Evo-Oz to me are mainly the 30+ bracket and I think majority of them are businessmen so therefore they dont have the time to build their own vehicles and yes to the younger crowd seem to be spending more than most of us can afford. Some members on there have negative attitudes towards early 4g models but its the same here with the newer here. The mods do seem a bit trigger happy with deleting posts and threads and also everyday someone either posts search is your friend  or insert name...sig  which to me is getting old.

To me this forum is more focused on Dragracing and Quartermile times whereas Evo oz is more directed towards Track driving and laptimes.

Rob my friend, I think you may need to go back and take a look at some of your posts as they were a bit brash/negative even sounded cocky at times.Especially the carbon fibre roof post.

One major problem which seems to be on the rise on both forums is organizing cruises then not showing up and also making a big deal about how you are going to be there with blah blah and then not showing up at all.Certain people on here and there do it a lot and it really gets old,Fast.

A recent incident on here and how the mods handled or shall I say lack of
handling this situation was very disappointing to me and I know that on Evo oz it wouldn't have gone the way it did.But O well shit happens.

Anyway thats how I see it
:)

Well put Tom- but I don't see how anyone on this forum is negative towards the newer models at all. Its hard to keep anyone with the newer cars on this board because of the lack of discussion associated with their particular model, so they tootle off to EVO OZ, which is fine- I usually drop most people with a newer model a PM letting them know of EVO OZ- which might not be the right thing to do for this club, but IMO its the right thing to do for the fellow Mitsubishi owner's need for knowledge.

The people on this forum are involved with drag racing, but i'm sure given the opportunity there would be a bunch of us willing to get our CAMS licence and participate in track days with other clubs. We don't have other clubs coming to us inviting us to their track days, so that might have something to do with it. I'm sure with a little leadership, perseverance and some time, it will happen.

People not turning up to cruises has been happening alot since I moved to Australia and started happening back with the old ClubVR4 cruises about 4 years ago. Its something that you can't stop. People talk shit- its something you need to get used to when you move to Australia. you shoulld know that cuz

:p

The lack of intervention here by mods is what makes this place so good. There's no "i'm boss, get over it" kinda thing, enforcing rules so pathetic you wonder why they are there in the first place. Sure, there are times where rules do need to be applied, but thats the same with any forum.

Just wait until evo oz crumbles?

This was covered indepth by the moderator team about 12-18 months ago with the decision that we actually didn't want the guys from Evo-oz because they don't mesh well with our group of people.

If they come, they come, but I believe the mod team chose not to "make it easy" for them. As has been said, we build our babies, they buy theirs. Which isn't a bad thing, it's just a complete 180 on the way we work... most of us do our own servicing/mechanical work to some degree and aren't even sure how to spell warranty. (that just took me 3 goes hahaha)...

At the end of the day, Team4G is probably now the most prominent and dominant Mitsubishi forum in the country in terms of anything pre 1997 and isn't that the way you guys like to keep it? It's only really a matter of time as more and more people come... but you never want to get too big you know. Then it just becomes nissansilvia.com ... and eventually part of hardtuned network that just launched (haha evotuned).

hey, at least we aren't like ozhonda.com ! be grateful 8)

but also, is it just me or are they now ALOT of evo 7+ on the road now? it seems they are starting to be just as popular as the wrx's on the road.

Pretty much this is the reason - when VI's have 200+ km's on them, then we will get them here, and the VR4 will be the new cordia :D Not to say we're a povvo club, we just appreciate, and yes this is a reiteration, "built not bought". I mean can you imagine going to a cruise, and talking to some bloke about all the dodgy little mods we do to our cars, like the MAF hack, or using a DSMlink etc, and then he starts talking about taking his car to a shop for a tune... and how he has $300 a corner tyres... theres just no meshing between the two groups, with the exception that they're both groups of mitsubishi enthusiasts.

Shame it's not like ferrari clubs, where the guys with the new ferraris appreciate the guys with the old ferraris, and vice versa. Then again I don't think ferrari owners hack their cars up as much as we do :D

i dont believe any of the guys on our forum have anything but love for all evo's old and new there is forever pics of race 9's in general discussion with an absolute barrage of posts saying how we all have wet undies and want one... they just dont seem to like old evo's etc and i think track days will slowly become a common event... i think that because alot of us are still quite young and havent had our cars terribly long we are still just stoked to be driving such flash cars on the road let alone the track but it will happen id love to get into it soon enough

I bought an evo, it cost me 80k.
I brought an evo, it came on a trailer behind my ute.

English is a great language, you should learn how to use it.

 Like that's the worst spelling mistake/grammatical error you've ever seen on a forum.

It was once said that a million monkeys at a million typewriters would eventually produce something intelligent. Thanks to internet forums, we now know that this is not true.

lol

I picked up on it too, you were just the example at the time :p

Heaps of people use brought when they should use bought, even my cousin does in conversation.

Tom my carbon fiber Roof post was 100% lagit having worked in the body kit industry i know there is alot of diff between items from thickness of what is used and so on

all i asked for was the thickness so i could tell if it was worth the extra 1200 i think it was for example a Fake body kit to a real bodykit the quilty and so forth i know it may have sounded cocky and harsh but i wanted to know having spent money getting a carbon boot and waiting on style choice for bonnet the Roof is the next thing it was ether going to be a 10mm carbon layer or a 12mm carbon layer the 10mm has steel bracing along where the roof mounts to the car where as the 12mm did not there for being weaker

it is like if you got a carbon bonnet to find out it did not have anybracing and ended up bending and not fitting correctly you would not be happy

Not to argue Rob but your first post was.
"But WOAH at the price.... i have seen evo 6 carbon roof for under 1000"
in a for sale thread.

yeah and i do belive i went on to ask what this has compared to the other ones and yet the seller could not tell me all i wanted to know why this one was so much more then all the other aval in japan for half the price that was all

i dont even think he offerd to tell us the Brand of the item ether that is what had me more worried it was like he had no details on his own item whats so ever

They dont like people asking detailed questions  they much prefer the idiots that has no clue and have money to burn supporting their web supporting vendors or mates of forum mods that are trying to make coin out of their association.

I have found we ask for more details as we 90% do the work ourselves
They just want it, as it will getting fitted by a workshop for good coin(in most cases)they are easy sales thats just what they want :?

bring it on I say

I've done a few track days with them including the EvoNats 07 but every chance one particular wad mod finds a reason to exclude my ride to compete (as it isnt a off the line factory made evo)
I'll then get a foot in mouth, head in a$$ PM, stating the same toss excuse
