fastest evo from factory?

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

the 6.5 AUS spec is the fastest but a TME jap spec vs GSr jap spec i belive GSR is faster as it has a bigger turbo and bigger top end

haha well that was my rebuttle as most cars are similar from factory i would assume power to weight would make the difference?

but blah.

an 8mr runs 12.7 out of the box as its been done numerous times.

As you sure? I didnt think there was any EVO that runs 12's stock. EVO 9's do it in 13.6 seconds- its hard to see an 8 MR doing it in .9 of a second faster

according to the mr owners it does...

also on www.supercar.net

but yeh i dunno bout that time id say a low 13 would be more accurate.

Tell your mate the question is irrelevent.... not like anyone keeps an Evo stock for too long anyhow

haha thats true- plus they're all pretty damn good, in their own way!

but you get so many people making it slower than faster by doing the wrong mods

the difference between factory claimed figures and people willing to launch it hard!

ever noticed in the 'drags' on 5th gear, top gear, etc they never just sidestep the clutch at high revs (much less off the rev limiter) like alot of owners are willing to do.

Only evo that i know that runs 12s is the Evo 3 RS.. the 8Mr does not do it out of the box.. alot of owners have exhaust and pod which also increases boost.. i wouldnt call this factory.

I drove Steve's (White tiger)8MR down the Townsville drag strip the first time I had ever driven it and ran 13.3 and 13.2 With a fairly solid Launch (1.8 ) Im sure on a better prepped track(and colder) I could have gotten a flat 13 out of it.

OH and its stock as....

aiight,
u got me curious,
plus i was bored at work :D

acording to this book: Mitsubishi Lancer EVO - The Road Car & WRC Story
http://books.google.com.au/books?id...=evo&sig=dihB_DuQpOplyQMzzIQeI0Vyq3w#PPA80,M1

Evo III does a standing quarter in 12.8 (pg80)
Evo V does a standing quarter in 13.2 (pg112) (sorry polo) :)
Evo VIII does a standing quarter in 13.6 (pg 172)
im sure the rest of the models would be similar to the above as they are from the same generation.

also The GSR does a standing quarter in 14.2 (pg 65)

this book looks fkn crazy, i might buy it.
