Flutter on GSR

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

The acoustics and inlet design of a "63 or a "93 wont give you the noise of a vl turbo,It just wont happen.
Ways to get it though include....masive cooler piping, massive intercooler, massive inlet pipe with no airflow meter etc....The greater the volume of the inlet section (after the turbo) the bigger "air Spring" you have bouncing back and forth, therefore the noise occurs....a big turbo helps to.
So unless your gonna go 800x500x76 cooler with 3 1/2 piping and a T66,your car probly wont ever sound the same.

Keep the stock BOV,it confuses people, especially EA falcon/VN..VP etc drivers with no brains who cant work out if the car is turbo or not, even though the things revs out in a split second with a depening engine note.

I went back to the EA confusing spec BOV,its so discreet, and different, every halfwit and his dog has the KUUUUUSSHHHH now.
AND...theres nothing better than leaving doubt in the mind of a Faded fleamarket purchased torn Chicago Bulls hat wearing doll recipient EA driving SocioEconomic failure of an individual,as he revs his asthmatic pushrod pile in a desperate attempt to stay within trainlengths of the rearbar as you are on half throttle with the stock BCS fitted. :!:

Sorry.Im sick of EA/Vn drivers :x :x :x

Indeed
There should be a section to post just for commodore and falcon incidents.

Brainless morons that continue to race without any hope etc..

I'm about to crush my stock bov and slap it back on :)
I'm sick of the sound my greddy look a like makes

Crush?

 Crushing the trumpet to make the sound different no doubt

Very funny guess Dane but not quite correct lol

Crushing the stock VR4 bov can help it hold higher boost, up to 30 psi in some cases :) Luckily i'm only after about 22 or so!

in regards to your original question,

Pull your stock bov off and turn it round, do it back up and away you go ;)

but i had it for around 4 weeks then blew my turbo, mainly to doing this.

yeah nah i think for the sake of my turbo and wallet i wont be doing that..

whats the biggest size cooler i can get without adjusting my front mount.. or minimum and easy adjustment..?

i wana keep it as "sleeper" as possible

Nothing wrong with good flutter :)

I got a few dose pipes back in sydney, they change the sound quite a bit, had it sounding like a vl with a 3" 90deg off the turbo. This is with my td04 though  nothing like 5psi at 1500rpm lol

lol love that avatar

i think you'll find it hard to find an aftermarket cooler to suite the stock side mount location,

The evo 1-3 style setup is a fairly good upgrade and they pop up on here now and then.

dose pipes, are they easy to fit? and any expensive.. and side effects??

and crossover.. sorry i meant a front mount cooler.. as in one where i can just put it and not having to cut my front bar or anything like that

hey mate...

a bigger intake isn't hard to fit... go down and see your local exhaust shop... take your pod filter with you.

will sillicone joiners and 3 inch mandrel bent pipe, you should be able to get one fab'd up pretty easy!

i got defected for mine but thats because it wasn't vented back into the intake. both ports were venting to atmosphere because i hadnt had time to install the plumb back hose.

afterwards i rang up vicroads and they told me that they are legal according to vic roads, although the EPA may see them as an issue as they could possibly leak to the atmosphere

Is it possible to adjust the tightness on a plumb back bov? Also if you have a stock airbox as opposed to a pod, is there a big difference noise wise?
