Yep 7-8 heatrange plugs are what you want.
Yea I may end up going that way when I pull the dash apart to fit the climate control later on.evo-gsr said:Why are you using BKR plugs anyway?
BPR7ES are what you should be using Ian.

If you have a 4G93T it definitely takes the BKR5E for a stock gsr.Ian91 said:Yea I may end up going that way when I pull the dash apart to fit the climate control later on.
Um I went into repco and asked for plugs and that's what they had in the system for a 4g93t, maybe he only looked up 4g93 rather?
I'll get some of those plugs and see if it changes anything, what's the difference between them anyway?
Thanks for all the things to try out
Yep definatly the 1.8l lol3zercrowd said:If you have a 4G93T it definitely takes the BKR5E for a stock gsr.
I run BKR7's in mine and have so for years.
BPR(6/7)ES are for the 4G63T engine.
You definitely have the 4G93T?
Hope you get it sorted!
LOL Yeah I went back and looked at the members rides thread...Ian91 said:Yep definatly the 1.8l lol
jack of all said:By the ecu numbers its a evo3 ecu.
I also can see that it has the required parts inside for fan control. This was only on the evo3 (and s2 gsr).
jack of all said:It seems a little rich at idle as well. Is it in closed loop at idle? Ie. The afr bouncing around a specific number (should be 14.7:1) if its bouncing around a lower number, you may have a earth offset making the numbers a bit low overall.
That would explain why my fans haven't worked yet, hasn't over heated yet though is it easy to get it working off the ECU or easier to just tig up a temp sensor and relay?3zercrowd said:LOL Yeah I went back and looked at the members rides thread...
I was just thinking that if you are doing so many upgrades now and in the future, it might help to upgrade from the chipped ecu to an aftermarket ecu or something that can either fit into the stock case, or plug in and retain the case and plugs for that stock look if you're worried.
This can also control/overcome your EBC, wideband as well as your boost creep/gate/ignition/ISC/ fuel problems etc.... perhaps a AFM delete and add a MAP sensor.......help tie it all into one control unit. You could always retain a AFM for visual appeal and have it plugged and dummy wired in and gut it out. I never worried about keeping it however, and I just have a nice intake pipe with all of the breather lines plumbed in.
I personally have ran an aftermarket ECU since 2007 after having the chipped ecu/evo bolt ons etc.... and have never looked back....Tune it all on a laptop so you can see it all out in the open in front of you!
Check out my members rides thread if you have the time as it has a lot of info too!
Thanks I'll stick an adaptor and temp sensor in the bottom hose.jack of all said:Relay is in fuse box under dash. Just need to trigger it from the ecu (or from a temp sensor in bottom of radiator.)
How did the regapped plugs compare?
shows how long I havent owned a 93t for.3zercrowd said:If you have a 4G93T it definitely takes the BKR5E for a stock gsr.

I get what you mean but I wouldn't have thought a 38mm gate was too big?khubner1 said:theres a very real posibility your external gate is quite simply TOO large allowing to much exhaust gasses to bypass the turbine so as it comes on boost gate opens up to much gas goes through the gate and turbo comes off boost gate closes and the cycle repeats
