I have a maybe stupid question but I'll ask anyways, are the roof seals (the ones which run from the start of the windscreen to the end of the back window) glued down or do they snap into place?
I'm looking at replacing mine as there blistered bad and would like to know the correct way of pulling it off without damaging anything and putting the new ones back on.

Thanks,
Danny

are you talking about the black long piece of plastic which runs along both side of the roof?? if that is what you mean then they are snap into place ... there are clips that hold down the thing ... best is to start from one end and undo one clip at a time until the whole thing come off.

hope that will help :)

if you plan to buy new ones from mitsu get ready for a rediculous price tag

you can use proton wira roof strips, as the car is basically a cc sedan shell.

and it costs much cheaper to buy new from proton.

they snap into place in the middle of your roof, but when you get to the front or rear parts of your windscreen its more of a slide under snap-in

hard to explain, you'll work it out

but as mentioned previously, definately go for Proton Wira ones. They definately fit CC GSR and Evo 1-3 and their roof strips come with all brand new clips on them as well. Theyre also black in colour.

The part numbers are
PW534221 - Left side strip
PW534222 - Right side strip

Total price I paid last year was about $170ish (GST inclusive) for the pair from Proton Spares in Campbelltown NSW.

Mitsubishi quoted me over the phone $406 for the pair when in fact they are the same item.

Alternatively some people prefer to sand them back and respray them black. Im pretty lazy which is why i bought the replacements from proton

yeah I'm all sorted now didn't end up paying anywhere close to $406 but they're not new but alot better than what was on it. :D & new boot carpet

the air vent thing?

MB696770. thats the lower section under the wipers
MB696789 thats the upper mold like the roof strips.

my local mitsi parts guys hates me i walked in with the part no for the oil seal behind the oil cooler and he looked at me stunned then proceeded to tell me it says it's an oring well yes i know that for the oil cooler yes i know. didn't realy want to tell him i have the parts program installed and as such know exactly everything they can order in

My bad it was late so my dyslexic brain made the leap to front. I wasn't saying I know everything about the car I was saying I have the potential to know every part no. Just like anyone else who has the asa program installed

I got a quote for these from mitsi and nearly fell over $262.00 per side and 4-6 week wait from japan.nice work gsr94t now my roof will look new like the paint on it

Big thanks to evopwr and gsr94t for the proton part advice and part number. Just fitted new proton ones and makes the car look sooooo much better than the old tired cracked up originals. Paid $110 per side inclusive of freight from Sydney so definitely recommend this to others that look at their old ones and make a wrinkly face like I used to. Lol

i wana know where you went my local proton dealer wanted the same as the mitsi dealer across the road. and they were from different dealer groups.
(zupps owned mitsi and lock-hart owned proton)
