nah alex got 12.6 on about 108 i think... with a crappy launch

i raced it and best i got was 12.63 at 111mph

his suspension isnt setup for the drag strip and with only running 16psi the car felt like it needed more boost to give it a bigger top end....

first time out i was happy with how well alexs car ran... considering it ran about 8-9 passes one after another without a hick-up

next time soften the suspension and let some air outa the tyres will get it down to 12.4 - 12.3


was fun munching the wrx's tho haha

speaking of fwd. i got a ride up with Malovan yesterday as my car is AFAS.

He was running a 14.04 @ 122 mph and a 14.2 @ 127mph. not the only casualty either, possible driveshaft.

it was a short and swwet day though, only there for 1hr.

it was good for me though as i finally got to see some of your cars running

little update..
car got home safely.. managed to drive it into my car port but it's blowing white smoke under throttle.. at idle theres no smoke..
should be taking it to afas sometime late next week or the week after due to uni exams, so untill then it'll shall stay home dormant ..

Hahaha if you have ever driven a cordia you would know that is almost possible hahaha
tho it does seem way way too high for a 14.

My old cordia, tho only running the 1.8, was running 22psi boost, and the times over the 1/4... shocking... the pickup it had from about 80km/h onwards was crazy.

Hope to be at the next one guys. now that im back forum scanning i might not miss it haha..

the vh best run of the day was 12.4

he had mech problems all day... and at 4:30 they found out the prob... the seat pin or something like that was blocked... so they fixed that and got allowed to run an untimed pass again.... and by looking at it i would have said he did mid 11's it was fucking fast!

it caught fire at the end of the track lol tho no serious damage was done

love his 3" twin zorsts straight thru no cats muffs anything

other news baz i got my vr4 running last night.... started first kick yet again which i was mega happy with considering the huge change in everything...
ran the car at 7psi to test make sure all was running... blew the throttle body connector pipe off =[... fixed that... data logged at 15psi... no knock nothing is running rich but not to bad... then it was up at 17psi blew the bottom pipe to the cooler off...... need to work on the induction as its taking ages to get on full boost.... 5krpm is when it lights up gotta fix the battery in tha back up make the connections right and neat..

oil also shot outa the dipstick everywhere... so i think ill drop the boost and wait till i rebuild the engine b4 i get serious

I have 187kw and ran 112mph.. you have a claimed 206kw @ 16psi and ran 111mph.. either your dyno is wrong.. or you cant drive?

206kw should see you in the high 117mph mark EASY.. even if you fucked the launch and you gunned it down the 1/4 youd still be running high 110mph zone EASY...

A Quarter Mile strip never lies, you can play with dynos to alter figures but at the end of the day you can calculate REAL power by trap speed. 111mph isnt a 200kw car.

Suspension really doesnt play a vital roll in a road car.. if it was coilovers then i would say yes they would play a roll but even with coilovers i got a 1.78 60' and on road suspension i got 1.808 which is almost identical!!

Im just refreshing your mind when you told me my car never had such power... (187kw)

ok yea it had 206kw when it was dynoed over 6 months ago.... since then the car has basically been off the road... the tune is shit the plug have been fouling the injectors are running the car way to rich and the bottom end tune is pathetic....

so i doubt the car is running 206kw at the moment i would say about 180...

u also forget this was our first ever drag strip run... so yes we prolly cant drive... but after a tune and new plugs he will run under 12's

do u run semi slicks or anything like that jon.... becoz alex runs 17" low profiles!!!!!! street tread...

and street trim...

car isnt running anywhere near as good as it was when it got off the dyno
we knew that and didnt go for a 11sec pass

the car was also tuned for street not drag strip... 16psi on a turbo that will handle 30? so u can imagine the turbo wants more but its not gonna happen on stock internals and on the street daily driver

Yep stock turbo jon, catback, K&N hiflow and .9bar..

and it was 12.77@ 108mph.. 1.8 60ft.. not 12.6

As i said even if it was your first time out youd still run high trap speed!!!!
111mph isnt high trap speed for a car with that much claimed power.

I run a FULL street setup.. drive there drive home.. 1260kg weight wet EVO + 70-80kg driver!!!

Thats pretty crazy still.. on a almost stock setup. When i got my car on my old motor on 1bar i ran 12.6 @ 106mph that was as good as it got...

Your still running stock ecu or SAFC and stuff? ?

mph is the way to calculate power..
but it seems that both evo's are close in power!

I might have to take my car to docklands and get it dyno'd and see what i get hey.. might get a 10kw increase just on dyno

First time out in my evo i think i ran a 12.8 @ 103mph on the old motor, 15psi of boost.. Then the following week i ran 12.6 @ 106mph, that was bak in Nov 2005!!!

Then best to date was a 12.44 @ 112mph 2 weeks ago.

Barry's right.. both EVO's have almost identical power due to the mph.. i guess the only braggin i have is that im still running stock ecu and stock turbo No need for that ATP special 'franky' for me yet.
