help needed!!

Hi guys help desperately needed I got pulled into RBT this morning and they had a quick look around the car wanted to check it etc I got defected but no fines and they came to the conclusion that my car is actually a base model executive with a 4g93t and 4wd gear and box etc put into as the badge on the firewall says it's a CC model and nothing else

On the chassis number it should have CD5A somewhere right?

correct...the chassis number will have Cd5a in it if it left the factory as.. an awd. the converted to awd car I have here that was a lancer CC executive 2wd. Has Cb5a in the chasiss number.

Ok thanks mate he obviously made a mistake then my chassis number is FSNCD5APU00594 that is why I wasn't fined for the defects only a warning he wasn't sure

Yes apperantly it says on the paper

tyres - to comply
blow off valve - to comply
turbo and intercooler - to comply
A pillar gauges - to comply

underneath it states (CC Executive) not GSR

What state? In NSW if you can provide the proof that the car is a gsr and came with a factory intercooler, you should be right there, as you can claim you have just improved the efficiency of the charged air. BOV will need to be recirculated. Guages and tyres, well simple, remove and re fit after defect clears. Of course that's not to say you won't have drama again. Alternatively get engineered and epa spec cleared. That's what I'm 90% thru now.

yes in NSW I thought they had to give you a reason to defect your car they said nothing to me just handed me the papers

My old man reckons I should go to a cop shop and explain I was issued defects without reason or some crap doesn't seem worth it

They dont need a reason at all......if they dont like you or the look of the car...its game on.

Even if only for the tyres
even if only for the apillar.

there is nothing to fight. They can defect you for 1 thing or 30, the result is the same regardless.

All pretty easy things to clear, probably less effort to just get them sorted and get the defect taken off.

Could have been worse, they could have asked you to go and get an emissions test done - and being a fairly old car you could be fighting an uphill battle even with stock parts.
