the thing is you normally need about 120 + mph MIN to run a 10.. so something has been done! full weight could mean anything.. sounds like it could be an RS EVO which has had some weight reduction of some sort whether it be panels or interior.

1km = 0.621371192 mlies

195 kph * 0.621371192 = 121.16738244 mph 8)

still though, its must get out the hole really well, as speedtech know, its not all about power so i would guess there is a few other tricks been done to that car.

Going by my calculations it weighs 2500lb with driver and has 260KW ATW to run a 121mph. My evo full weight is 3000lb, so my conlcusion is that its an RS Evo that has had some sort of weight reduction unless of course they have reduced the kw's they are telling people for one reason or another.

its an evo 2 GSR, but yea, i reckon there is some fat been worked off though

his car is FULLY lightened, you may see a dash, but theres nothing behind it, it weights in the low 1100s with him in it.

thats what i said.. 1100 = ~2500lb.. which is about right.. so its definately gutted but that doesnt matter.. its run the rimes and thats what drag racing is about...!!! Maybe i should gut mine.. hehehhee

i wonder how much a borg weighs once u drop in a '63, big cooler and piping, vr4 box, big rims and vr4 brakes?

pretty handy my stock weight is 1080kg then aye

I was reading somewhere that borgs weigh around 1200kg wet weight.. have u weighed urs at a weigh bridge?

Jon

1140kg. If you've ever been in one, you'll appreciate how small they are, and light. I could push my borg easily by myself- try that with a VR4 or even an EVO- different story!!!

Take the sound deadener, aircon, power steering, all the heater etc out- you have a car 200kg lighter than an EVO RS!!!! :D

does all that make a big diff does it

I dont know if its safe to say this or not- im no physics expert, but say (as an example) you have a 200kw cyborg thats 1000kg, then you'd need 240kw to be able to keep up with it in a 1200kg EVO, due to the 20% weight difference

Below 80kmh yes.

After 80kmh aerodynamics play a role that's nearly 3x as important as actual power. However as always power-weight will of course still play a role. Basically, the more power you have, the more friction you can overcome from moving the air out of your way. The more aerodynamic you are, the less air there is to move and the less hard it is to move therefore less power is wasted on pure frictional forces and more is put into acceleration.

This is the MAJOR reason that evo's nearly always go faster than vr4s. VR4's are like a brick hitting the air whereas evo's are far more streamlined.

You will also have to contend with the liveaxle rear in the borg. Best of luck with that issue, I have no idea how to tackle it.

EDIT: Above is in layman's terms. I can explain this using algebra if you like.

'borgs have solid rears, which I was told by the Rob @ CREATD that is ok for going in a straight line.

this has gone WAY off topic lol

to keep it OT - a live axel should own at the drags (weight transfer in an IRS car lessens the contact patch of the rear tyres) and it'd be easier to retrofit in a bigger diff too, just match the ratio & use anything shortened like a Hilux, BW78 etc.

oh, big fan of the humble 16G here too BTW
