Think I've managed to get a full a/c unit (for the engine bay) from an Evo in a junkyard. The guy there is pulling it today for me and I'll be getting everything except pump (which I have already). Just wanted to check with you guys if installing it is as simple as just connecting all the hoses up to the right places and making sure everything's nice and tight, then going and getting it tested and filled.

There shouldn't be much more to it but always like to be sure before I go diving into these things. If anyone's done this please chime in on your experiences

Mayb if someone with CAPS can add a pic for you so you know which hose goes where that might help you out... Other then that make sure you fit all new o-rings then go get it tested and regassed... :)

Yeah I've got the CAPS (or rather the newer ASA system), but it's not the clearest when it comes to all the lines. Will test fit it outside the car though and also work out what o-rings I'm gonna need. Just standard o-rings will be fine, right?

from my experience cunning old Mitsubishi changed the fitting where the hoses go onto the compressor{pump}....so before you put it in the car. Check that the hoses you get actually bolt up to the compressor.

from there it is all fairly easy....but as said above make sure to use new o rings and that the o rings are installed with a coating of the correct compressor oil.

You need to use ac o rings to, not just any old o rings, they may be green or blue etc . the oil is also bad for u so use gloves .

im in the process of ripping out my ac from the engine bay - only got the compressor to go, if anyones chasing anything.
