Only had a few minor probs like leads ect, most likely maintanence thing, realy. Oh and a full rebuild. :lol:
But it's my daily car and it's the best of both worlds.
But if you drive your car hard extect to keep up the maintanence up to them.
I was driving behind a VERY ported N/A RX3 coupe......I STILL want another rotor!!!!
One day maybe keep a nice RX in the shed to drive everynow & then.

Im another in the "gonna get anotha rota club" miss my rx7 was a blast to drive and who says u cant drive it as a everyday car? i drove mine 180km round trip to work and back 4 days a week with no problems (little loud but i wouldnt be a hoon at 5am in the morning)

i'm on the lines of selling my car this year. rathered it when it was a mid 12sec car, could drive to work/cruises/race track and nothing went wrong. now been nearly 4 years and have driven less than 2000kms been through 2 full built engines, 4yrs rego fees and xxxxxx amount of cash.... couldn't say how many man hours i've done on it either and it's still off the road...

Fuk ya all, mines been off the road since September 2000 when the Olympics were on in Sydney and you reckon you're all sick of your cars?? :lol: :lol: :lol: 2007 will be the year I tell ya when all the wait will be worth it... bloody girlfriends who fall pregnant then force you to buy a house, then have renovations, then fall pregnant again and have another baby and then more home renovations caused the delay :lol: . Oh and in case you're wondering yes, Im currently working on the bathroom at the moment so hopefully she doesnt fall pregnant again otherwise I'm up da shit creek with the car lol :lol:

to say im sick of my car is not an option,
since ive owned it (4 months) i havnt really been able to fully enjoy it. the list gets bigger every time i pop the bonnet. still trying to sort out this fucking misfire and sputtering issue thats plagued me since i rebuilt the clutch.now my gearbox is going, GOD DAMN piece of shit car.....but alas, i couldnt be without it, as im stuck paying the bastard off for a few more years now.
should have bought a scooter.......god damn.

I think sometimes that peoples perception of a street/strip car is often blurred.
With the fact that the popo are cracking down more than ever on illegaly modified cars (thank you noble park dipshits) and the fact that we simply cant enjoy our cars on the street without breaking some sort of law, it proves that you need to sit down and really think hard about what what you want from your car, without crying about it when you go without it for a while.
No car is perfect- especially ones that were super hi-tech for their time, back in the day.
I rekon its best to leave your seriously modified cars unregistered, for the track/strip/hill only. I learnt this after getting my old VR4 modified!!
Then you can spend more money in place where it needs it the most, without having to worry about rego, RWC's, the cops, canary's and the god damn EPA.

$9k will get you a nice EVO 3 landed with a couple of mods- and like how JSTYLE showed us, you dont need to spend big bickies to go fast on these cars......

thats the price of a decent mildly modified VR4 these days.....
even if you want something a little newer, I've noticed the price on EVO 5's has come down in Japan alot, and you could pick one up fairly cheap!!
there's 8 on www.japaneseusedcars.com alone, in todays auctions.
I do agree with you dre, I must say im very tempted not to re-register mine, will save a lot of hassles. But then you have to think, like Jase has said, when are you going to be able to drive it?

driving last night... was on half throttle and decided to gun it...
lost all power, followed by that nasty sound you get when your turbo is fucked!
pulled the intake off today... compressor blades are fine, but there seems to be backwards/forwards play in the shaft. haven't taken the dump pipe off yet to inspect the damage on the back. :cry: :cry: :cry:
anyone wanna make me any offer?
