Havent been in here for ages. But im building a bobber at moment. Cause the ute is going good and not willing to pullit apart at moment. Also only have a motorbike as transport and its winter now.
Tank and wheels are at beauticians, and rear fender isnt fixed in place yet. But you get the idea.

Ive gone for black wheels, and will be whitewalls. But I saw another with red wheels and it looked great.

What size is your new toy.
I have some ripper photos of us lifting some tug pen pontoons.
The flex on the boom of the 350 tonner was insane!

The red crane was a 400t, but that was 2 years ago. So ive had about 4 more cranes since then.
I had a new liebherr 200t for 12 month.
Inside:

I am the big one in this pic, the lift is about 100t so 50 each. Cranes are 150t sumi, 200t liebherr, and there is a 70t grove with its butt poking up behing the steel:

This was a good lift. 75t @ 9.9m. Just a large module of steel thing:

I got a new boss and he wanted me to share the crane with his best buddy. I didnt want to share my toys, so I got a new job.

Moved a 80t demag from geraldton to telfer via port headland (4days) and a week later , its twin from telfer to perth (4 days). 70kph, 1.5km/l diesel. Got to see plenty out the window...

Start new job on monday, I think its a old clunker crane in perth cbd. We see how that goes...

Yea the hydraulic cranes bend a long way with a bit of boom out. That liebherr pulled down about 300mm with 40t on it. Solid. The hydraulics will pull down 2m sometimes. They look nearly like a fishing rod.
Not me, but this is similar size (200t+) and great pic.

Nothing pisses me off more than nepotism. Mostly because im bad at kissing ass and networking. I struggle to pretend I like some asshole boss so I can get the good jobs. They generally get the idea that I think they are a dickhead (if in fact they are) pretty quick.
Im good at doing a good job and that should be enough.

Sadly the world lives on nepotism, I see it at work all the time; the worst story I have heard to date is that some law firm always bins job applications from kids who didn't go to the right schools... do not pass go, do not collect an interview... merit is only a small part of it.
