hi all
i have a sohc 4g63 with multipoint injection and direct fire ignition using a microtech lt-10s with x4 ignitor box and 4 x bosch ignition coils.
car was running fine, i took the car off the road for a week because i changed exhaust manifolds so needed new oil and water lines and some new cooler piping. sorted all that out and went to start the car and no1 cylinder either won't fire or has very very weak spark.
i have swapped wiring around to test another coil. now that coil fires no2 cylinder fine, but no2 coil won't fire no1 cylinder. so afaik its not the coil.
i used a test light to check the ign outputs from the ecu and the x4 ignitor. the outputs from the ecu are all the same (so looks ok to me) but the output from the ignitor is 3 x strong signals and 1 x weak signal. so it would appear that the ignitor box is not giving a strong enough signal to no1 coil.
so, i chased up another x4 ignitor box and swapped it over. same problem.
i have re-wired the ignition coil seperate to the current loom. same problem.
i have completely removed that ignition coil and wirning and tested the output from both ignitor boxes and the signal is still weak on one ouput.
any ideas on what the problem might be?
cheers
