Leads are brand new 8.8s. Plugs are iridiums.
I'll try Cas on weekend. I thought that would only affect take off. Not high end revs?
I found a pin hole leak between inlet manifold and head. Gasket hasn't sealed properly so will fix that first
K man. Good advice. I adjusted Cas one way and motor sounded like it was dying. Adjusted it all the way the other way and the car is reaching 6 easily. But as it gets higher there is a large air rush noise and feels struggling like it's lacking air or fuel. I know there is a leake in the inlet gasket so will replace on Friday and get back to u
Well I haven't taken it off. And the motor ran fine previously. Only thing new is tps and oxy sensor. But I do have a leak on intake manifold which I'll fix on Friday evening. Dre ur more than welcome to come visit and have a look. Plus im a good cook so there is some good food in it for u

Not sure if this would affect it but the CAS is installed a specific way.
On the CASE, there is a notch on the tooth which lines up to a marking on the CAS body. This is lined up and then installed into the head with piston 1 line up at TDC I think on the compression cycle.
Not sure if it actually does anything because I've always had aftermarket ECU's and they work either way. The stock ECU might be a different story... can anybody confirm?
I think I found an issue. Fixed it a car is going much much better. Even idles as smooth as oily homer.
I took inlet manifold off. I could hear air coming out of cyl1 Cleaned all the high temp copper gasket stuff off. Cleaned up gasket which is like a week old. Put it back together. And this time it was worse. Air pissing out everywhere and struggling to stay alive.
I took it apart....again. I matched the gen gasket to the manifold and it was perfect. Matched it to to the head and it was way off. The inlet ports on the head are huge. And even with the inlet manifold sitting avaunt it with no gasket you can see in through the head at different spots.
I had an old gasket from sca. That matched the head but didn't cover the inlet. What I did was make a new gasket out of a cerial box. Same size as the sca auto one, but with the inlet manifold size ports. Sealed it up and it running the best I've seen so far. It revs well. I can feel it boosting.
The question is. Why doesn't the inlet match the ports on the head?
The person I bought it from. He said it was a vr4 block with Evo head. My Evo loom and everything plugs in fine. Then again. Most of the plugs are on the inlet manifold is it worth upgrading to a vr4 inlet. Can I use my current coils/ignotors/tps ect?
Either that....or the person he bought it off told him a porky and he hasn't checked. Is it possible the inside parts..cams ect have been changed to Evo?
If I got a vr4 intake manifold would my current coils and everything still bolt up?
