As some of you may have gathered from my previous post my clutch is on the way out.

Its got a standard evo VII clutch in there at the moment, but considering I'm going to be doing some mods sooner or later (nothing really major, just enough to pull a 13.0 flat), I thought I might get something a bit heavier than standard.

After doing a bit or research and speaking to my Muzza Counsel, the way to go seems to be an exedy heavy duty cushion button http://www.exedy.com.au/CushionButtonClutchKit.aspx

Anyone have one or thinks this would not be the way to go? Would it be too hardcore for street driving?

Or

Would http://www.exedy.com.au/HeavyDutyClutchKit.aspx be enough?

Thanks in advance....

Why not get a little bit extra
Go the sports organic.

That'll be fine for a 13 sec car.

Pedal will be slightly heavier BUT you'll still be able to ride it.

Well its booked in this week with Jeff the Evo Whisperer.

The clutch has deteriorated to the point where the car is almost undriveable and clutch slips in all gears so Im doing my best not to drive it atm. Because the clutch was already on its way out the release point was really high and may have been causing me to ride it.

Settled on a HD Exedy, will let you guys know what the verdict is.

Hey Guys .
i got a new clutch and flywheel from meek when i was down there last cos my new mods tore the old one to shreds . . . its the Exedy 3 puck with new presure plate and flywheel . I tried put up a pic so you can see the clutch but its too big , and i dont have those photo type programs to resize it .

It took a bit of getting used to but its fine on the street , and holds its own around Queensland race way too ! . if your goin to do a clutch id say do it once and get one to handle your final power figure and driving style ! .

Went to Techsport and got a HD Exedy put in. Car drives much better obviously, but the actual clutch pedal doesnt feel heavy or hard. Is this normal for a HD clutch?

i was told by meek and npc that the cushion button is no good cause as it heats up the wafer springs under the ceramic pads expand and push them out potentialy giving you a non release of the clutch.

ive got a button clutch in my evo 9.. drives fine perfect.. i can leave the line and get 1.7s by riding then dumping the clutch...

theres no chatter or no hard pedal pressures etc.. sometimes in the morning the clutch is very bitey but other then that i cant really fault it. I would always recommend a button for anyone who is going to be racing their cars.. the organics r ok but they tend to die fairly quickly with alot of power!
