After careful deliberation I have come up with what i want my car to do.

Basically i want to be able to snap second and get at least a little wheelspin.

I realise there is a big difference between 2 & 4 wheel drive in this respect.

Is this a possible aspiration?

Anyone know what kind of KW is required?

And then from there the size of things. (ie i asked about intercoolers and was told it was power specific)

Cheers All

wtf, why do you want wheelspin at all, the whole point of 4wd is to get away from wheelspin, then there is the whole lsd thing as well, if u want to put out enough power at the wheels to spin them in 2nd, u will need at least a 4 bolt, if not something bigger, stronger gearbox, full bottom end rebuild probly 2.3l stroker, cams, o/s valves, valve springs, retainers, rocker arms, cam gears, fuel pump, surge tank, massive injectors, high flow fuel rail, fpr, aftermarket ecu, better ignition, cold air intake, exhaust headers, fairly large intercooler w/ 3" piping, and a turbo that is matched up to the engine so that u can use power down low (i.e very little lag), IMO its not worth having something that will spin wheels in 2nd, it really isn't very streetable when ur gettin into that power

~EDIT~ if you have that much power u will snap something and it probly wont be 2nd, not meaning to put out the flame tho, im all for hipo vr4s, JSTYLE was puttin out 240kw at the wheels so maybe ask him what times he ran, and what it was like on fuel and to drive on the street

LOL

OK well i ahve the 4 bolt :p but thats about it...I dunno i enjoyed getting sideways action as i slammed home second in my rwd cars. Just thought it would be way cooler in a 4wd, so basically fat turbo, exhaust, fat int, and lots of fuel wont be enough?

no, unless u put really really really thin wheels on it, like what you would find on a wheelbarrow or a toyota echo

LOL

ok. Thank you. I will have to go away and think about it this now

BTW "wheelbarrow or a toyota echo" is like saying a log or a log :p

lol @ "wheelbarrow or echo" + 1

That's my big laugh for the day.. especially the mental image of someone loading a toyota echo up with concrete.

Wyda's car wheelspins into 2nd... 15psi of boost with an 18g and a frontmount.

It doesn't hold the spin, only chirps and shudders a bit. But it's definately possible.

You definately DON'T need such a crazy build. But in reality, a wheelspinning vr4 is an understeering missile. Dangerous and it's totally out of control.

Ahhh.....

Enteran you make a very good point. I like the way the VR4 seems to almost turn in when on power unless of course you go in too hot and just understeer like a bitch. But in saying that I still want my wheelspin.

So enteran will a big 16g give me 15psi or will i need to go for a 18/20?

i think dre knows about wheelspin in second gear :p

My car can spin 1st and 2nd with crap tyres, with good tyres I get a chirp when I slap 2nd. Thats in a straight line.

Going around the corner + boost = drift.

I beg to differ, my car drifts nicely with a mechanical LSD in the rear.

i know what u mean by spinning second is fun

i love quick rwds that start to spin in second, great fun!!

just do it in the wet, saves u breaking things!

lol in second baz?

try 4th

two of my mates do that....

jack's rally car spins semi slick's in 2nd :D
