mitsi's don't have "tension rods" (or castor rods as they are also known).

to increase the castor you need to get offset bushes for the rear mount of the lower arms - or move the top of the strut backwards.

It must have just been adjustable tie rod ends i was thinking of then, they wer cusco items

What are these then?

They rear camber arms?

and imo teins are better anyway.

i have fitted and driven on jics (in a honda mind you) and they were just ok. the quality is nothing on tein imo

Jic too soft? what do you mean? are you talking for track applications?

to stiff in the spring and not enough shock control, which makes for a bumpy ride, this is on a street car,no track work.

others may like them,i do not

Jamie, stop window shopping and get your evo driving butt up to Accurate Suspension, Fulcrum at Moorooka or Extreme Motorsport etc and see what they can knock up for you.

All i want is a set off coilovers

I just spoke to shaun at philcom, he rekons K-Sport are good

I want it for lowering purposes, if i wanted it to handle awesome, id just leave the stock gear in it..!:D

Anyone driven on K-Sport?

Ive heard people compaer k-sport in the same field as G4/D2?Racing Logic...im chasing opinions though on those that have drove on em

Do you think the Jic felt a bit soft cos it was twin tube? it only has 10 points of adjustment too...Are they considered the base level of the Jic range?

Ksports are good budget coilovers I've had mine for years, its track and daily driven also, shed loads of rebound adjustment in the damping adjustments for eg. I go to the track on my street setting and then wind the adjustment for the track then put them back to my street settings when track day has finished

Took me a full day at the track to work out what settings worked well for my set up, and for the street setting I did over a weekend when i had to do quite a bit of driving.

For the price and what they do, they have served me very well.

Mate i think youve just solved the debate for me, I think im gonna give the K-Sports a go, i can get them thru Philcom at a pretty good price too..

They are a monotube, and the JIC's are twin, IMO MONO>TWIN

How stiff and soft can you wind them?

And have you had any issues?
The the body is threaded for the lowering i noticed, so thered be plenty of adjustment in them.

tis true, same gear just anodized a different colour.
How 100% sure are you, im not being a dick, but i reaaly hate when someone says something because theyve just read that it is on a forum, and taken it as gospel...Do you mean more so that thye are comparable to them? i know theyre still out of Taiwan..then again, alot of shit is these days. I also was fishing around the K-Soprt web site, they say everyting is american..

Nope, I mean I've had a k-sport in the left hand, and a D2 in the right hand and they appear identical in every respect except colour.

I have never seen a GAB that looked anything like the others, also GAB offer some much higher spec suspension as well.

Another point, the number of clicks of adjustment means little, it's the effect that the adjustment has on the damping that matters.
My Cusco Zero2's have only 5 clicks, but each makes a noticeable difference, whereas with the D2's in my mates evo4 whilst you can tell the difference between hardest and softest settings, it takes 5 or 6 clicks to produce a noticeable difference in back-to-back driving.

It'd be nice if some magazine would take an example of each of the common brands of coilovers to somewhere with a shock dyno and publish the results....
