RVR HSG ECU woes

Help Support 4GTuner:

ok.

it is all good the way a told you in private msg except for one thing.
As i mentioned before, Mitsubishi swapped two wires between Evo3 and RVR harness and due to that you have to do this additional swap. If you don't do it car wont start.

Ok, do this additional swap

RVR to Evo6

pin8 (fuel press sol) to pin 3 on evo6
pin 33 (fuel pump relay) to pin 8 on evo6

Reason is simple, RVR's pin 8 is actually Evo3's pin 33. Mitsu swapped them two for some reason and because of that so many people couldn't run their RVR's with Evo3 ECU. :(

I also think that SSG actually comes with 100% evo3 wiring and as such could be driven with evo3 ECU but not HSG's. :w00t:

Hope I didn't make it too complicated. :D

Out of topic.

I managed to flash my new toy for off road fun. I'm trying to get it to use a bit less fuel but to also gain a bit extra torque.

Well this might come as a suprise then. I had the EVO ecu plugged in and totally forgot it was still plugged in so I went to start the car and it started straight up and idled just like the stock ecu would if it had been unplugged for a while. I checked the AFR's and it was idling at 14.3-8 on a cold engine which is lean obviously, I put the A/C and it idled up and everything. I didn't check the radiator fans though, but apart from that all the gauges worked, no ecu warning light etc...

Here is a video of it running off the evo 6 ecu without swapping any of the wires, also I forgot I had left the A/C on so it didn't want to start to easy. This was on a cold engine, A/C on and the first time starting since I unplugged the ecu last night.

Obviously it is too lean to drive but once I get my tactrix 2.0 cable and rescale the injectors I should have a good starting point.

Brothers... whats do you mean that ssg wiring are 100% same with evo 3 but hsg are not? It only swap two pin to fit with evo 3 ecu right? Im already buy a evo 3 ecu but i haven fit in yet.. i planing to fit in without remap or tune at the time..

Do you have SSG or HSG RVR?

Plug evo3 ecu and try to start, if it doesn't swap above mentioned pins and try again. Evo maps will run fine except for injectors sizes.

I have a HSG rvr engine in my galant..i buyed the evo 3 ecu but i havent plug in yet.. so im confuse about the pin.. are the HSG pin totaly same with evo 3 except fuel pump sol and fuel relay right?

OK, I'm assuming that your reference to evo6 should be evo3 and pin 3 should be 33?
I have attempted this and swapped pinouts 8 and 33 and my hsgr will not run.... Bugger.

Swap the pins back to where it was and try this.
Swap ignitions leads. 1 and 2, 3 and 4 and start it up.

I'll give it a crack Mio. Is that because the CAS is reading 180 degrees out?
When I first installed it with pins 8 and 33 swapped it did start and run for about 2 seconds then died. So maybe not? I have this posted on another post, I replied to this post to garner your interest.

Swapped the leads and no good, bugger...
Is this with the pins 8 and 33 swaped?

Start from begining, plug everything the way it was for hsg setup and then try evo ecu as is for hsg.

Convenience... More like perceived now though. The ECU came with a chip for 055, 510cc and a stutter box. So I couldn't resist it. Further, my car is daily so I didnt really want to pull the ECU to get it socketed.
Plus all the cool kids are doing it, lol.
