i just got some put in my mates gsr not to long ago...
they costed me $10 brand new n i got 16 of them to replace them all.. my work installed them for i think it was $200-$260 n the noise is no longer their AT ALL... it wont matter what oil u use, they wont shut up till u replace them...

just thought i would let ya know cause i thought that was fairly cheap... its a big job to do as well...

i use gtx3 with all the cars in my family...FTO GPX...Grand vitara(fucking things have worse lifter ticking than 4G's!) and my 4G63T

works like a charm on the EFTEOH and my 4G but the grand vitara is past saving! it needs atleast 20w50 to stop those fuckers goin off!

I got a set of 3G lifters for my 4G93 GSR, and sounds great now no noise at all and its been almost 2000kms since installation, well worth it, cause the ticking in mine was awful and loud

i think it refers to the size of them polo.. 3G being the largest ones..

Aparently the oil filler holes get larger as the lifter evolved, the larger holes are tougher to block up.

vr4's are 1g, early evo 7 bolts are 2g...

sorry for late reply yeah i got mine for $10 each for my mate... na its not really a big job at all... the rocker cover the timing belt n the cam shafts come off then away u go
i got the parts from bursons, n he has been been so happy with his car... it sounds good again... n with ppl putting 20-25w oil in a gsr... mmmm not the best idea... put penright 10 or 15w or magnatec... heres a photo of my mates car getting done...

Does the timing belt have to come off to change the lifters I thought you could just pop off the rocker arms and do it that way as per http://www.vfaq.com/mods/lifters.html.
I'm only asking cos I'm replacing the timing belt as wasn't going to do the lifters till later.

mmmm well to make life easy we took the timing belt off... prob cause he wanted his cam shaft seals replaced as well... but yeah it made it look so much easyer with everything out the way.... he had it done in like 30mins TOTAL
