My car runs on a 4G63T motor with Stock TD04 Turbo at 16psi + automatics transmission

Here are my mods:

Evo V CP9A fuel pump
3"CAT and JDM High flow exhaust pipe
K&N air filter
Larger throttle body
Ignition spark amplifier, NGK spark cable and racing spark plugs
EVO I fuel regulator

I am looking for a ready made chip to power up my car as I would love it to run faster and support my later mods in fitting EVO 3 TD05 turbo and EVO 3 cams and EVO 3 injectors.

Anyone can kindly help?

Many thanks! :D

Hey mate,

Welcome, for the chip you may be able to use the ecmlink system however you will first have to get the ecu details off the front of the ecu case. If it is in the same location as the RVR then look under the left side of the car, high up under the dash - should be a rectangular case. If the numbers read like the following then you should be able to use ecmlink lite for the EVO III.

ECU coding from a ecmlink lite compatible RVR ecu is as follows:
MD 312467
E2T37876
5225 E

However final confirmation of compatibility should be done by Tom at ECMlink - look in the sponsor area of the forum for his details however he responds faster to an email.

Many thanks man
I shall pull my ECU and have a look
It is ok to use EVO 3 prorgramme on mine if the car is AT?

Im trying to have a look at my ecu aswell, pretty damn up! and couldn't read or reach the thing....

ChariotGThk you will need to unplug the 3 x plugs, then undo the 2 hex nut screws that are attaching the ECU, and just slice it out. Heres mine :D

Im wondering can my ecu compaitable with ecmlink lite dr rvr? I notice that there's a sticker infront of the casing Phone # Replace Chip, does that meant my ecu has been chipped already? Will this affect working along with the ecmlink lite with the chipped ecu? Umm...I shall let u guys answer them

Some info about changing the socket on the board, it appears mine has a socket adapter soldered on there...

i got mio on here to mod my ecu and ever since it runs a hundred times fast, got rid of speed limiter/boost cut and added a 5k launch control ;)

Umm im keen on getting the ecmlink! Not sure should i go with the lite or full ver, and i think lite only works with the rvr, am i correct?

Ecmlink v3 lite is the only option available from ECM tuning to suit the Evo 1,2,3,gsr/RVR vehicles. However I suggest you contact Tom if keen on it and see if yours is compatible. I would only be hazarding a guess so would prefer not to take the punt however the process I went through was talking with Tom about the ECU and making sure it would behave appropriately. The ECU number I listed is my own vehicles. Looking at your image you are running the 28 pin socket on the board however again best bet is talk to Tom. I am not certain but pretty sure I am the only one running the ECM link in the RVR and hence he only lists that ECU number here

Best bet - Talk to Tom - he is very helpful and wants to see his product out there and being used. Sorry could not be more helpful than that but it is worth the time discussing it - just ask anyone on the forum who has the chip installed.

HAHHA yes I had a look at the number yours in the bottom section lols...i shall get in touch with Tom. Thank u!

That's chiped ecu board same as what i do. What they have on it you can say only by reading that chip. You will not have any problems using that ecu with ecm, good thing is it is socketed so you plug in ecm chip. I wonder if that ecu is stock for the car. Can someone tell me exact case number and model it is out of?

RVR97 Where you ever able to datalog your car with evoscan? Running that ecu in it?

To be honest, I bought my RVR probably less than month ago and I've been doing quite a lot of research onto my car, pulling things out and back in.

I can tell the board it has been chipped with a socket put on after pulling it apart but I have not get to the stage of getting evoscan and the odbII cable for now. But then I'm thinking of jumping straight into the ecmlink lite and at the same time I'm wondering whats in my current chip ;) Ohh yeh im waiting for Tom to reply back to me about the compaitable with HSG RVR 97, hope theres some good news for me.

btw is that the case number MD 340778 that youre after vr401? n its out of a HSG RVR 97... I totally has no clue what the xspeed guys in Perth did to the rvr. Long road ahead for me..

Evo3 eprom/chip will run in hsg rvr just fine. I tested it on my car. Only downside is it can not be logged with evoscan. I don't see reason why ecm would not be working then. ;-)

I forgot to say, hsg rvr uses different airflow meter then evo3 and ssg rvr but scaling is not that far. Afr is slightly off.

I can't tell what airflow meter i got in my RVR, might be a problem to purchase the ecmlink... it seems theres no sticker or model number on there :( any idea how to identify it?
