walbro pump noise

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

I always find mine is louder when it's warm - fuel is less dense so the pump has to work harder I guess.

Also, I mentioned earlier in the thread that it was loud as hell, but now I've got seats back in the car, I can barely here it - that might just be because of how loud the rest of the car is though.

When i fitted mine in I used the old O ring and placed it on the out tube first then the collar and new O ring , that plus had to do several in and out fittings of in the tank and had to bend the cradle away from the swirl pot to stop any vibration being amplified by hitting the inside of tank.
You can only here mine if outside the car and only just hear it from inside the car its only very lightly there sound wise.
Sounds good Wicky :D , I'm a bit confused as I'm trying to work out what you mean in my head  do you have any pics or drawings of what you mean by the O-rings and collar? (by collar do you mean the one that guys sometimes cut off and fit a piece of hose onto?) cheers :)

rob, i beleive he means put another o ring under the collar that slips into the cup.

if you look closely you can see the collar just coming out of the cup.

put an oring in between the bottom of the collar and the top of the pump

Thanks George, that's cleared it up for me :) So O-rings where marked in yellow in pic below, and use a rubber sleeve (which sometimes comes with some pumps) for the outer body... cool 8)
