Hi all, I've been looking at new rims for my gsr, Rota grids in 17x9 +25 are appealing to me at the moment, not to sure how I'd go fitting these under the guards, anyone's input much appreciated :)

they will only just clear the trailing arm in the back by a mm or two, but you will need to flare the guards
more than is probably possible without flares.

I have 17x9 +12 and they stick waaaay out

True, it would be that close with a offset that low? Cause mine is like +40 something at the moment and they are less than a finger width from the trailing arms, I thought the lower offset would pull it away from the arms, although the wider rim would then bring it closer again I guess, might have to see if I can get a narrower rim than 9".

Cheers guys

Hey, thanks for the link, and offset guys, going off that calculator I would loose 23mm on the inside and 65mm on the outside, ill have to chuck the stock wheel on and measure what clearance I have to add and subtract from and go from there, I think 65mm poke might be a bit unmanageable though

Cheers all

im running rota force 17x8 +35 an they are tight, there is a pic in my members ride, I have 215 45 17's on them

Also you can do what I did and draw a cross section of a wheel draw a line through the centre then play around with different offsets and rim widths to see how much wider you are on both the inside and outside. I managed to fit a 17x7 inch rim with a p38 offset with rolled rear guards on a lowered car the clearance is about 1mm. On the inside I think with that sized wheel I could go to p40 and just clear the rear trailing arm. I found the standard rear trailing arms on the gsr to be quite restrictive to wheel sizes etc

Hey, when you say its tight, where exactly are you meaning, I checked your rides thread but the photos didn't really show it that well, unless my phone isn't showing me all your pics, could you measure the wheel to trailing arm gap for me if you have time? Thanks Adrian that's a good idea too, might give it a go :)

Anyone around the Brisbane/ sunshine coast area that could spare some of their Saturday and one of their rims for a test fit? Would be much appreciated!

that size will be about 3mm from the trailing arm. with a big tyre even closer (235)

the best easy to get sized rim i found was evo 5/6 which is 17x7.5 +38, will fit with a 215 with minor work to the rear

That size would be fine, I'm not after a super wide tyre, its just the style of wheel I like only seems to be in those really wide sizes -_- cheers, ill see what I can come up with in that size :)

check out buddy club. tripple9 are a dealer. they do a p1 in 17*7.5
They do these for a pretty good price too and look suit our series of lancer perfectly. You will have to pay for them then wait for freight from Japan though. Also check out the thread titled wheel offset I posted a pic of mine prior to install. I can point you in the right direction for a set out of the US they are 17x7 though but look nice. From memory were $700 delivered to my door in a p38 you could fit a wider tyre if you wanted. I have 205/40/17 and no clearance issues. If your interested let me know and I can post some pics on the car I have them in black but father in law is a painter so could hook u up with any color.

Adrian and hypo4, thanks for the replies, the buddy clubs look pretty cool, I would prefer a wider spoke though, and those 5 spokes you posted Adrian look nice too, I was shown these by a friend

They look like the grids I originally wanted :) he said $700 delivered in 17x8 +35, htgsr said that's the size he's running so I should be able to get away with that

I'd buy them at that price that's a bargain just check it has jws or some other testing if your anal about your shit like I am
