WHAT A NIGHT!!
i finally got the car running again with the turbo and all after inspecting the bearings etc..
got the exhaust all bolted up once again and also the i/c piping..
just finished a hard day at the workshop (11am to 6pm)... vr4's all day! from dre's doner vr4 to dre's ovr4u...
it was getting to the end of the day, i decided to finish my car since i had it booked for a tune during the week... fired the thing up and no battery.. (DAMMIT!!!), jumped started it with the amg and fired it up and it roared to life!!... getting the shakes i jump in and back her out... once again running in FWD mode, i slip the clutch and chirp, it spins the wheels more than usual and i take off!..
i ease her into 2nd wheelspin, 3rd then slow down...
checking the oil pressure, fuel pressure, oil temp, water temp and boost.. everything seems good!
egt is low so i give it a bit, it goes up and drops down again (running rich)
water pump seems to be working fine, radiator is doing its thing.. great! nothing beats a reliable car!...
she's now ready to go back to the workshop and wait for the tuning day...
i then do a u-turn and BANG!!!!!!!!... WTF WAS THAT???
i put it in N, take a look under the car, all is good.. no smoke, engine purring like normal... jump back in and chuck it into 1st, grinding noise........ 2nd?... grinding noise... OH NO!!.. gearbox????.. did i kill it???
i shut her down and check out the drive shafts and xfer case spline... its all good.. check the shifter arms.. fine..
start her up again and put her in gear.. same shit!.. farkkkkkkkkkkkkkk...
not now!!!!!!!..... I'm nearly done!!.. CMON!!!!
i end up pushing her for about 300 metre's uphill and then 100metres down.. get her back to the workshop and i have a feeling its the clutch...
its only 1500km's old and its dead???
4puck ceramic custom clutch died on me...
i'll find out how bad it is tommorrow...
oh well, its all part of the game!
its not only me having issues though, my mate with a dc2 spent the whole day bleeding his brakes only to come to a conclusion that the break master cylinder he bought to replace his stuffed up one was also stuffed!!
well it looks like i have another 5 hours to pull this box off and replace the clutch...
anybody else ever have these issues with their car?
anybody want to donate a clutch?
