Z411 Ryco Filter issue

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

Unfortunately don't have them on me to check.

I think it's the depth of the thread that's the issue, because it'll screw in but then click and keep screwing, but it never bottoms out and tightens.

Took this pic the other day, but didnt take pic of the face

The box shows 1 type having 6 holes and the other 8

Looks like all of the regular Rycos have 6 holes and the Platinum has 8?
I definitely bought the regular type.
Also supercheap are super expensive looking at that price tag!

sent them a message to thier facebook lets see if i get a response

on prices yep thats expensive i get the filters for our cabs at 3 bucks a pop

How are you running the Z9 jack? Are you running it off the front of the block still or with a re locator kit?

I notice on the Ryco website it's listed as being a 94mm seam diameter whereas the Z411 is only 69.5mm

I run the same as the later evo cos they're smaller for clearance to dump pipe. I'll have to check what the number is.

I think you're running a z436, which is the stubbier version.

I don't have dramas with the dump pipe as I have the filter mounted in the inner guard now, and as I have the room I'd rather run something longer hence sticking with the z411

Yea, my relocator has a different threaded insert to accept the z9 filters. I know z30 are the same size, but different thread to the z9.
Yea its like 4" diameter. I had a z411, but the dump scratched the paint off the filter as i put it on and it was touching the dump.

I believe the bigger the filter, the better. You get a little extra oil, a lot more filter capacity, less pressure drop across the filter.
And the filter flows more, allowing the filter to stay out of byass longer

These are the 3 interchangeable Ryco models that suit our cars.
Shame when I took these pics years ago I didn't take a pic of the thread side.
The Z445 is the same as a Z411 but a bit shorter to give you more clearance to things such as dump pipes etc.
The Z142A is the largest diameter and capacity oil filter we can use 'off the shelf and available anywhere' that I've seen on a 4G63 thus far. If you have the space to fit it, use it.

Yep I've been doing what Jack suggested, I can't go a wider filter because my relocator sits the filter right in the corner of the inner guard. Could go slightly longer but I kind of like that the filter doesn't hang lower than it does.

This is my setup;

The plan is to see what Ryco come back to me with, hopefully before the end of the week. The ones I sent them arrived at their Melbourne premises today so I'll just see what they have to say when I hear from them.
