    turbo porting/deburing

see how its all shiney smoothe... that's bad, im unsure about your skill or previous experience porting, so I apologise if I insult. the surfaces should always remain a corse dull finish, this stops the 'rain on glass' effect. what you have done is great, you need to either run a tree hone down...

    4g93p/4g93t fly wheel shaving

R&D is research and development, that's why I race my car, and consult with a highly experienced automotive engineer. I cant remember the exact amount to remove for that flywheel, I now just use measurements as weight isn't really considered.

    4g93p/4g93t fly wheel shaving

fyi, I run lightened flywheels in both of my gsr's, both satria's, and fitting one on my new motor box combo and have had plenty of R&D on them

    4g93p/4g93t fly wheel shaving

ive done a heap of lightened flywheels, actually have some in stock. 93p and 93t are different flywheels, its not the static mass that needs to be reduced, its rotational mass.

    WTB GSR Gearbox

Hi all, pretty much im looking for a gsr gearbox, i intend to rebuild it so condition isnt a problem unless its smashed to pieces, also if the casing is cracked, thats acceptable too. To be honnest im looking to spend as little as poss for the box itself, so i can spend more on new synchros...

    Ceramic coated pistons

Pretty much if you build your engine with normal tolerances, then have the pistons coated it will act as a safe guard... idealy on a normal engine it can last up to 60,000kms before wearing off... the idea of it all is to act as a fuse, if the piston gets jammed into a bore from a misfire, or if...

    Ceramic coated pistons

it wears out easily, that's the downside, but its the cheapest insurance you can put on your pistons....

    Hylomar

mls has hylomar on them, and some of you may not know coolant stops adheasion... you should run engine with water only to full operating temp for 15min or longer, then after let fully cool, then replace with coolant. what happens is, very tiny amounts of coolant seep into the tiny machining...

Could crushed Woodruff Key in crank cause timing issues

ive repaired many crank keys on swift gti's they wear into the side of the crank, harmonic balance, crank gear, and the key its self.. ive had them from 2 deg to 40 deg out.. and they can move even though the crank bolt is tight. you need to make sure all the parts involved are tight, or you...

EG-EK Civic half size radiator into CC GSR/EVO

basic aerodynamics for 1 part intake you need 3 parts exhaust. (look up ww2 fighters) now again to basic aerodynamics.. you never put a funnel infront of an intercooler or radiator, when all this air tries to go through the rad, it creates turbulence and blocks the radiator (graham bell goes...

    Exhaust - 2.5" or 3"

the question is not the size, more the design... for example ive got 2 mates with xr6 turbo's, both bf2, both made very close power stock... one went with an off the shelf 4in system with 4.5in dump, the other I made a custom 3.5, with separate stinger pipe 16in long, made an extra 35kw...

    Shorten intercooler piping, tune?

You should have your tune checked with any mods, even summer and winter fuels... with my experience, the actual tune wont change as load points are govened by revs and map, so it wont effect spool time ect.. the only setting you might have to changr is fuel tip-in, as boost pressure will raise...

    Ignition issue?

I had the same issue running a gsr engine with a gti loom, without the injector resistor pack the car overfuels and sounds like antilag...
